Asbury Park Aug. 16, 1983 All Obituaries William Gould III, radar, radio expert LONG BRANCH William Benjamin Gould a retired electronics engineer, died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center, here. Mr. Gould, 81, of the Elberon section, was born in Cambridge, and moved here in 1940. He retired in 1969 irom Fort Monmouth after 29 years.

k. Before his retire- WILLIAM P. REITZ SR. BRICK TOWNSHIP William P. Reitz 73, died yesterday at Point Pleasant Hospital.

He was born and Uved most of his life in Newark before moving here in 1954. Before retiring 11 years ago, Mr. Reitz was a clerk for Li Plumbing here, for 10 years. He was employed by Abbey Self-Storage, here, at the time of his death. Mr.

Reitz was a member of VFW Post 8867, here. Surviving are his wife, the former Hazel Murrin; two sons, William Pittsford, and Arthur, here; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy M. Bartolino, Trenton; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Philpot, Toms River, and seven grandchUdren.

Mr. Sirianni, 68, lived in the Oakhurst section. He was born in Long Branch and moved here in 1962. He retired in 1980, after 20 years with the Asbury Park-New York Transit Neptune.

Mr. Sirianni was a communicant of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Gianudis; a son, Ronnie, here; two daughters, Theresa Latka, Toms River, and Diane, at home; a sister, Rose Ciaglia, Long Branch, six grandchUdren and a great-grandchUd. Shepard, 75, of Patricia died Sunday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, after a lengthy illness, Born in Wilmington, N.C., she Uved there before moving here in February. She was a housewife and the widow of Willie N.

Shepard who died in 1971. Mrs. Shepard was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Hampstead, N.C., and was the mother of the church. She also was a MARIA ROSARIA MILANO KEANSBURG Maria Rosaria Mila-no, 18, died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Miss Milano, of Ramsey Avenue, was born in Newark and moved here nine months ago. She was employed in the maintenance department of Newark International Airport. She was a member of the National Rifle Association, here. Surviving are her parents, Anthony and Joan, with whom she Uved; a brother, Maurice, and a sister, AUce, both at home, and her maternal grandmother, Emma Pacheco, New York. The Laurel Funeral Home, Hazlet Township, is in charge of arrangements.

JULIA C. YETMAN BRICK TOWNSHIP Julia C. Yet-man, 84, died Sunday at Point Pleasant Hospital. She was born in Pittsburgh and Uved here seven years. She had Uved in this area more than 20 years.

She retired a year ago as a custodian for Point Pleasant Beach. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Joseph Clifton American Legion Post 196, Point Pleasant Beach. Her husband, Leslie, died in 1969. Surviving are a stepson, Walter Yet-man, Neptune, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Anna Evans, Point Pleasant, and Mrs.

Dorothy Jacobs, here. Benjamin V. Cohen, New Deal architect The Associated Press WASHINGTON Benjamin Victor Cohen, a member of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Brain Trust" and a principal creator of the New Deal, died yesterday at Georgetown University Hospital. He was 88.

The cause of death was not immediately known. Renowned as a brilliant legal scholar, Cohen along with the late Thomas G. Corcoran was credited with drafting major New Deal legislation such as the Securities and Exchange Act, the Public Utilities Holding Company Act, the Federal Housing Administration Act, and the Tennessee VaUey Authority Act. After formally leaving government service in 1947, he continued to quietly advise government leaders from his home in Washington and he served as a delegate to the United Nations several times. Cohen, who earned undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Chicago, came to Washington in 1933.

He served first as general counsel to the U.S. PubUc Works Administration and from 1934 to 1941 he was counsel to the National Power Policy Committee. Later, both he and Corcoran served together as counsel to the U.S. Reconstruction Finance Corporation. Cohen was born in 1894 in Muncie, where his father, a Polish immigrant, was an ore dealer.

After graduating from law school, Cohen worked as a law clerk for a federal appeals court judge and during World War I was an attorney for the U.S. Shipping Board. After the war, he represented American Zionists at the Paris Peace Conference and later opened a corporate law of arrangements. MAZIE IRENE BOLDING RED BANK Mazie Irene Bolding, 80, of 27 WUlow died Sunday at Riverview Hospital, here! Born in New Bern, N.C., Mrs. Bolding Uved here since 1918.

She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, here. Mrs. Bolding was the wife of the late M. Bolding, who died in 1968. She is survived by a son, Joseph, and two daughters, Mrs.

was born in New- i ark and owned homes in Newark and here. He was the owner of San FUippo and San FUippo, Attorneys at Law for 40 years in Newark. In 1981, he moved the firm to Caldwell and opened a branch in Red i Bank. Mr. San FUippo also served as the attorney tor Fairfield Township from 1965- 75 and on the MontvUle Board of Health.

He was graduated from Brown Univer-t sity, Providence, R.L, and the New Jersey I Law School, now Rutgers University Law School, Camden. He was a member of the Essex County Bar Association, the American Bar Associ-v ation, the Essex County Country Club, West Orange, and The Essex Club, Newark. t. Mrs. Pierce, 80, of Jackson Mills Road, was bora in the Port Norris section of Commercial Township and lived in Salem before moving here six years ago. She retired in 1957 after serving at various nursing homes in the Salem area for more than 15 years. Mrs. Pierce was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, here.

She was a Gold Star mother. Surviving are her husband, Walter two sons, the Rev. Walter here, and William, Salem, three grandchUdren and eight great-grandchUdren. The C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Howell Township, is in charge of arrangements.

LILLIAN KAUL LONG BRANCH Lillian Kaul, a retired assembler, died Sunday at the Eaton-town Convalescent Center, Eatontown. Mrs. Kaul, 78, was born in West Orange and moved to this area in 197L Her husband, John, died in 1970. Before retiring, Mrs. Kaul was employed at Edison Industries, West Orange.

Surviving is a brother-in-law, James W. Mancuso, West Long Branch. The Woolley Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements. JULIA MERTZ OCEAN GROVE Julia Mertz, 83, of Central Avenue, died yesterday at the ConvaCenter, Neptune. Mrs.

Mertz was born in Newark and lived in Maplewood Township before coming here 41 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Asbury Park, and had served as deaconess there for more than 18 years. She had been a member of its Missionary Society and Bible class. She also attended Grace Tabernacle, Belmar. She also was a member of the Homeowner's Association of Ocean Grove and the Ocean Grove First Aid Auxiliary.

He also directed research relating to the GOULD instrumentation of the long-distance guided missUe for Cape Canaveral in 1950. During World War Mr. Gould was responsible for the installation and operation of early warning radar equipment throughout the entire West Coast.

He was involved in the development of radar equipment in all three of its stages spark gap transmitter, vacuum tube and solid state. He was graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, and attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, and Princeton University. Mr. Gould initiated and directed the Signal Corps Weather Reserve Contract, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was an amateur radio operator since 1914 and possessed an amateur first class radio operator's license from 1919 until his death.

Mr. Gould was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the National Audubon Society, the Antique Wireless Association and the Garden State Wireless Pioneers. He was a life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He also was a member of the Veteran Wireless Operators Association, the Morse Telegraph Club and a charter member of the Century Wireless Association. He was a communicant of St.

James Episcopal Church, here, and was a vestryman for five years. Surviving are his wife, the former Leah Felts; a son, William Benjamin IV, Stanford, a daughter, Dorothy Gerber, Reston, a brother, Robert Ded-ham, a sister, Marjorie Lewis, Bed ford, and five grandchUdren. GNESIN LONG BRANCH Sylvia K. Gnesin, 63, of North Lake Drive, died yesterday at home. Born in New York, she Uved here most of her life. Mrs. Gnesin was a teacher at the Long Branch Junior High School until 1942 when she received a law degree.

She returned to teaching at Long Branch in 1960, retiring in 1980. She was a charter member of the Congregation B'nai Sholom, here, and a former president of the Sisterhood of the Congregation. She was on the executive board of the negotiating committee for the New Jersey Education Association. Surviving are her husband, Oscar; two sons, PhUip, Los Angeles, and Mark, Tus-tin, two daughters, Fern, New York, and Penelope, Piscataway Township; a brother, Dr. Alfred Katz, Los Angeles, and a sister, Mrs Jean Weisberg, Beverly Hills, Calif.

He retired in 1964 as the owner and operator of a MobU service station in Atlantic City, N.J., after 22 years. LAURA IRONS MAC DONALD GLEN BURNIE, Md. Laura Irons MacDonald, 62, died Aug. 9, after a short illness at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.

She was born in Point Pleasant, N.J., and moved here in 1942 to attend South Baltimore General Hospital's School of Nursing. Before retiring in 1946, Mrs. MacDonald was a registered nurse. She also was a vice president of the Board of Trustees of South Baltimore General Hospital and a volunteer in the gift shop. She was a member of the North Arundel Hospital Women's Auxiliary, here.

BEACH HAVEN Lewis R. Letts 28, died Sunday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River, from injuries sustained in a boating accident. Mr. Letts was born in Toms River and Uved in Stafford Township before moving here in 1978. He was a mechanic for Bill's Gulf Service Station, Ship Bottom, for the past four years.

Mr. Letts was a member of the Beach Haven Volunteer Fire here, and the New Jersey Speed Garvey Association, Toms River. Surviving are his wife, Lori a son, Lewis R. at home; his father, Lewis R. Stafford Township; his mother, Marion, New Milford, two brothers, Samuel Huntington, and Bradford New Milford; two sisters, Dana Elaine Hogan, Wolcott, N.Y., and Jodie Lee Mac-Kenzie, Gibson, his stepmother, Susan, here; a stepbrother, Larry Sloan, Lakehurst, two stepsisters, Michele and Stephanie Sloan, both at home, and his paternal grandfather, Clarence Stafford Township.

The Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, Ship Bottom, is in charge of arrangements. JAMES CHANDLER WYZYKOWSKI OCEAN GROVE James Chandler Wyzykowski, 21, died Sunday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Wyzykowski, 138 Franklin was born in Elizabeth and Uved in RoseUe Park before moving here. He was employed by Lowy's Express, a moving company in Neptune.

Mr. Wyzykowski was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, RoseUe Park, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Central Jersey, Farming-dale. He attended Brookdale Community College, Middletown Township. Surviving are his parents, Edward and Gale, and a sister, Nancy, aU here. The Ocean Grove Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARGARET LINEHAN WALL TOWNSHIP Margaret Line-han, 82, died yesterday at KimbaU Medical Center, Lakewood. Mrs. Linehan was born in County Ros-scommon, Ireland, and lived in West Orange before moving here in 1974. She was a communicant of St. Catharine's Roman CathoUc Church, Spring Lake.

Formerly, she was a communicant of Our Lady of the VaUey, West Orange, and was a member of its Rosary Society. Her husband, David, died in 1978. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Gus Hen-gel, here. The O'Brien Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements.
