MCCULLION JACKSON TOWNSHIP James T. McCulllon, 69, of South Wind Circle, a retired tavern owner, died yesterday at Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood.

Mr. McCullion was bom in Mount Car-mel, and moved here In 1977 from Madison Township. He formerly owned a tavern 26 years in Centralia. Pa. He worked until 1976 as a custodian for the Madison Township School district.

He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Conolly; three sons, James Levittown, Robert Toms River, and Joseph Jamesburg; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Marie Patrick, Lakewood, and Mrs. Ann Francis Curley, Middletown Township; a brother, William, Reading three sisters, Sister Santa Rosa and Mrs.

Margaret Hin-chey, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Gertrude Mul-downey, Girardvllle, Pa; 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. The Glenn A. De Bow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. relay; out and in boat race; boat swim; line pull; boat pick-up and boat relay.

The Sea Girt team amassed the most points and assured their victory with the final event, the boat relay, winning by a 250-yard margin. The tournament had been scheduled originally for Wednesday, but was postponed until Friday because of thundershowers. A second-place victory was notched by the Bradley Beach team, while third place went to the Lavallette crew. On Saturday, the Fourth Annual Jack Wright Memorial Row will begin on the oceanfront here. The event is held in memory of slain Bradley Beach Patrolman Jack Wright, who was killed Memorial Day 1976 following a grocery store holdup.

The event, a 15-mile row from here to the Long Branch fishing pier and back, will feature two boat classes, lightweight and heavyweight surf boats. Farry said that between 30 and 40 current and former lifeguards are expected to compete. Each winning two-member team in both BRADLEY BEACH A 14-member team of Sea Girt lifeguards was the winner Friday night In the 17th annual Bradley Beach Lifeguard Tournament, held on the oceanfront here. The event, which tested the proficiency of 72 competing lifeguards, is believed to be the oldest Jersey Shore lifeguard tournament, according to organizer Greg Farry. Farry, supervisor of water safety and aquatics for the borough, played host to lifeguard teams from Belmar, Avon, Bradley Beach, Lavallette, Ocean Grove and Sea Girt.

This was the first win for the Sea Girt team In the three years that It has entered the tournament. Coaching the winning team was Kevin McGlynn. The contest Included six events shuttle Siblings charged in murder case still in custody ASBURY PARK The brother and sister arrested earlier this week in connection with the murder of an elderly vacationing woman remain in custody in the Monmouth County Jail in $100,000 bail each. Assistant County prosecutor Paul Chalet said Mary Turra, 26, and her 23-year-old brother, Nicholas, both of Old Bridge Township, have not posted ball on the murder charge. The murdered woman, Mrs.

Victoria Spe-daliere, 72, of Piscataway Township, was found dead in a city motel. Although the Turras have been charged with murder. County Prosecutor Alexander D. Lehrer and city police officials have refused to discuss a motive for the June 9 slaying. A probable cause hearing on the murder charge has been scheduled July 29 in Asbury Park Municipal Court.

Turra was first arrested at his hotel July 14 and charged with withholding information. He was placed in the city jail in $5,000 bail. The following day, police arrested his sister. After arraignment before Municipal Court Judge Donald J. Pappa, they were sent to the Monmouth County Jail, Freehold.

Mrs. Spedaliere and the Turras and their mother, Patricia, were all guests of the Albion Motel, Second and Kingsley Avenues, at the time of the beating death of Mrs. boat-weight divisions is to receive a trophy, Farry said. The defending champions in the row are Jeff Propert and Greg Cooper, both here. The row is set to begin at 8:45 a.m.

Timothy Snyder, 20; former football star MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP Pvt. Timothy J. Snyder, 20, of Holland Road, an ex-high school football star, died Friday at home while on leave from the Marine Corps. Pvt. Snyder was born In Fort Dix and lived in Freehold before moving here seven years ago.

He was a 1978 graduate of Middle-town North High School, where he played on the varsity football team. He achieved All County, All Shore and All State Football status while a team member. He attended SNYDER Upsala College, East Orange, before entering the Marine Corps. He graduated with honors on Wednesday from the Marine boot camp at Parris Island, S.C., where he was awarded the Leatherneck Award in recognition of outstanding performance while undergoing recruit training. Surviving are his parents, John J.

and the former Henrietta Jaziorski, with whom he lived; five brothers, John New York, Karl South Ainboy, Ronald Marlboro Township; Col. Donald with the Marine Corps at Cherry Point, N.C., and Matthew home; three sisters, Mrs. Joy A. Lobue, North Hollywood, Mrs. Gay A.

TROSINO BERKELEY TOWNSHIP Thomas E. Trosino, 73, a retired Essex County employee, died Friday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. Mr. Trosino was born in Newark and lived In Verona and Cedar Grove before moving here four years ago. He was formerly a foreman for the Essex County Plants and Structures Division, Cedar Grove.

Mr. Blasucci played in the American Broadcasting television studio bands in New York for many years. He also was a backup musician for the Russ Morgan and Joseph Venuti bands. He was a music teacher at Red Bank Catholic High School from 1954 to 1957, and operated Dan's Music Center here 25 years until 1975. He was a communicant of St.

Ann's Roman Catholic Church and a member of Local 802, Musicians Union, New York. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Keisler; a son, Daniel Middletown Township; three brothers, Dominic, Brick Township, Michael and Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Shaara, Jersey City, and two grandchildren. THOMAS MOSCATELLO BERKELEY TOWNSHIP Thomas Moscateilo, 66, a retired postal worker, died Friday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River.

Mr. Moscateilo was bom in Newark and lived in Belleville for most of life before moving here six years ago. He was formerly a customer service representative for the U.S. Postal Service, Newark. He retired in 1975 after 32 years service.

He was an Army veteran of World War n. He was a member of the Toms River Veterans of Foreign Wars Post; Toms River Council, Knights of Columbus, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Giordano; two brothers, Frank, Belleville, and Philip, Newark; and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Lataro, Toms River. GEORGE T. SIMPSON JR. ROSEBORO, N.C. George Taylor Simpson 64, a retired Army captain and formerly of East Shadow Lawn Drive, Neptune, N.J., died Friday at the home of his brother, Dudley Simpson. Mr.

Taylor was born in Cumberland County, N.C, and lived in Neptune for many years. He served 27 years in the Army. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary O'Brien, Neptune; a son, Capt. George T. Simpson IV, with the Marine Corps, Pensa-cola, a daughter, Mrs.

Rosemary Mai- hame, Wall Township, N.J.; also, another brother, Grey, and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Ham-merly, Greenville, S.C.; and a grandchild. The Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. FRANCIS KUCZEK POINT PLEASANT Francis Kuczek, 75, of Dock Place, a retired machinist, died Friday at home of cancer. Mr.

Kuczek was born in Auburn, N.Y., and moved here nine years from Woodbrldge Township. He formerly worked for the Walter Kiddie Bloomfield, retiring in 1957. He was a communicant of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are a son, Stanley, Harrison; a daughter, Mrs.

CHAPPONI MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP Marjorie B. Chapponl, 49, of Mallard Road died Friday at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank. Mrs. Chapponl was born in Montelair and lived in Connecticut before moving here 20 years ago. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and its vestry, the Junior League and Monmouth County Museum.

She helped found the Christ Church Thrift Shop. Surviving are her husband, Robert and a son, William at home. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. WARD L.

PAULISON MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Ward L. Paulison, of Crestwood Village, a retired auditor, died yesterday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. Mr. Paulison was born in Paterson and spent most of his life there before moving here several years ago. He formerly worked for Barber Steamship Lines, New York.

His wife, Gladys, died In April. Surviving are several nephews and nieces. The Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, here, is In charge of arrangements. MRS. JOHN MAHAND LAKEWOOD Edna Lehmann Mahand, 78, of Gramercy Court, Original Leisure Village, died Thursday.

Mrs. Lehmann was born In Troy, N.Y., and lived in Trenton before moving here 13 years ago. She was a member of the Brick Township Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, John and a son, Donald Plainfield. The D'Ella Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Card of Thanks PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif. Dr. Harold A. Kazmann, 85, formerly a prominent surgeon in Monmouth County, N.J., died Tuesday at Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City, following surgery to remove a brain tumor. Dr.

Kazmann was born in Belgorod, Russia, and came to the U.S. in 1904. He became a citizen In 1918 while serving as a private in the U.S. Army. He was a 1917 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received his degree in medicine two years later at the University of Illinois.

He began his medical practice in Long Branch, N.J., in 1920. Following graduate studies in abdominal surgery at the Royal Academy in Budapest, Hungary, from 1928 to 1933, Dr. Kazmann returned to Long Branch to practiced general surgery. Throughout his career, he developed and used new surgical techniques and published articles in surgical journals. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the U.S.

Navy as a commander. After leaving the Navy, he became director of the Surgery Department at Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch, and chief of surgery at Fitkln Hospital, Neptune, now known as Jersey Shore Medical Center. He retired in 1958. He was a member of numerous organizations including U.S. Committee of the World Health Organization, N.J.

Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Monmouth County Medical Society, Monmouth College board of trustees, American Medical American College of Surgeons, New Jersey Academy of Medicine and American Public Health Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Bayard; a daughter, Dr. Marion K. Richards, San Jose; a brother, Victor, Palo Alto, and a granddaughter. MRS.

HARRY GREEN MONMOUTH BEACH Clara Reis Green, of Channel Club Towers died yesterday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Green was born in New York and lived in Deal before moving here three years ago. She was a member of Temple Beth Miriam, Long Branch; Monmouth County Symphony Orchestra and Ruham Society, New York. Surviving are her husband, Harry; a daughter, Helen R.

Finkel, New York; a brother, Samuel H. Reis, Washington; a sister, Miss Ruth Reis, New York; a stepson, Arnold Green, Honolulu; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lois Peyser and Mrs. Nina Green, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Patti Fahy, Beach Haven; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

VOORHEES JACKSON TOWNSHIP James M. Voorhees, 76, of Bates Road, a retired farmer, died Friday at Paul Kimball Hospital, Lake wood. Mr. Voorhees was born here and lived all his life in the Jackson-Lakewood area. Surviving is a brother Russell Lake-wood.

Island Reach park art choices for purchase TOMS RIVER A water color and an oil painting which depict sites at Island Beach State Park are the choices for $250 purchase awards by the Ocean County Cultural and Heritage Commission this summer. The paintings, by Bay Head resident Ro-dell C. Johnson and Cherry Hill resident Glnny Hartkopf, will hang in public buildings with other paintings portraying historic Ocean County scenes.

Johnson's water color is of a fisherman's shack and dock in a cove on the bay side of the park. Ms. Hartkopf's work, in oil, depicts the bayside sand dunes surrounding a pool of swirling water in a cove. The paintings were chosen at the "Year of the Coast" outdoor art show conducted by the Ocean County Artists Guild, at Huddy Park, here, last weekend. Gorman was bom in Somerville and moved here 16 years ago from Dunellen. He was a welder for the former Central Railroad of New Jersey in Elizabeth before retiring in 1964 after 43 years service. He was a member of the Toms River Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Eder Gorman; a son, William E. Whippany; a daughter, Mrs.

VAN NAME HOWELL TOWNSHIP Clare 0. Van Name, 67, of West Farms Road, a retired secretary, died Friday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Van Name retired in 1978 from the Brisbane Child Treatment Center, Wall Township, where she worked 10 years. She was bom in Staten Island, N.Y., and lived there before moving here in 1964.

She was a member of the West Farms Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, James and a brother, Theodore B. French, Keans-burg. The C.H.T. Clayton Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
