M2 Asbury Park PressFriday, September 13, 1985 Ocean Obituaries LtClLE B. BAILEY. 69. of Ware- foa, died yesterday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Ringwood and was a summer resident of Waretown for 20 years before moving there permanently in 1979.

Davis was born in Newark and lived in Vermont before moving here two years ago. He graduated from University College of Rutgers University, where he was president of the Class of 1941. He received his master's degree from New York University. He began his doctoral studies at Harvard University and completed them at the Fredcrico Villareal National University, Lima, Peru, where he was awarded the degree of doctor of administrative science. He formerly worked for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Newark.

Mr. Davis was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a commissioned officer. He served as industrial development coordinator of the Vermont Development Commission from 1951 to 1952, and as state personnel director from 1951 to 1959. In 1959 he entered the U.S. Foreign Service as a public administration advisor, serving for two years in Ecuador and two years in Peru.

Mr. Davis taught in Vermont secondary schools, directing the English department of Newbury High School and the foreign language department of Brattleboro Union High School. He was assistant professor of economics and Spanish at Windham College, 1959-1962. He was also visiting professor of public administration at the Central university of Ecuador, the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and professor of doctoral studies at the Frederico Villareal National University, Lima, Peru. He formerly served as personnel director for the Burlington Mills New York, and director of employee education for the National Board of Fire Underwriters.

Mr. Davis was a member of the Northern Valley Regional High School Board, Bergen County, and was town clerk, town treasurer and the treasurer of the town department of education in Chittenden, Vt. He preached in Protestant churches in New Jersey, Vermont and Virginia. He was a former member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Newark, and was a member of the Ocean County Evangelical Free Church, Lakehurst. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Weir Murdoch; two sons, Malcolm James, Madison, and Gordon Barry, Alstead, N.H.; two daughters, Alison Ruth Grieg, Fairfax, and Nancy Lorraine Palm, Laurel, a sister, Louis Kienle, New Port Richey, and nine grandchildren.

Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, Whiting, here, is in charge of arrangements. JOHN F. MCCABE, 70, of Dover Township, died Wednesday at Deborah Hospital, Pemberton Township. Born in Jersey City, he lived there before moving to Ortley Beach, Dover, eight year ago. He was a summer resident of Ortley Beach for 33 years.

He was a patrolman for the Hudson County Police Department, for 22 years, retiring in 1970. Hi was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Seaside Heights. Mr. McCabe was a member of Moose Lodge 399, Ortley Beach, and the N.J. State Retired Police and Fireman's Association.

Surviving are his wife, the former Anne McRae; a brother Charles, Pom-pano Beach, and several nieces and nephews. Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Lavallette, is in charge of ar rangements. Wednesday at Riverview Medical Cen ter. Red Bank.

Mrs. Eriksson was born in Brooklyn and lived in Atlantic Highlands for 30 years. She was employed by the Emigrant Savings Bank, New York, for 1 2 years, retiring in 198I. Her husband, Bcmhard, died in 1973. She was a member of the Over 55 Club, Atlantic Highlands.

Surviving are a daughter, Edith Long Branch, and a brother, Sven Ber-genson, Bronx, N.Y. Posten's Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, is in charge of arrangements. RICHARD K. SMITH, 66, of Manalapan Township, died yesterday at Freehold Area Hospital. Mr.

Smith was born in Milltown and lived in South River, before moving to Manalapan 1 5 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was former owner of Causeway Boat and Marine, South River, and a tree farmer, Manalapan Township, since 1969. Surviving are his wife, the former Katherine Bohi, and a daughter Catherine at hopie. Walter s. dalik, 64, of iioweii Township, died ednesday at Freehold Area Hospital, Freehold Township. Mr. Dalik was born in Freehold Township and lived in Colts Neck Township before moving to Howell five years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

'He was a caipenter with Milltown Builders, Milltown, for 15 years, retiring eight years ago. Surviving are his wife, the former Claire Milinsky, and four sisters. Vera Jacobs, Frances Petty and Dorothy, all Jackson Township, and Mary Foreman, Hobe Sound, Fla. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements. Virginia marie corw in, 62, of Bradley Beach, died yesterday at Monmouth Medica'l Center.

Mrs. Corwin was born in Neptune and lived in Bradley Beach for 45 years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Bradley Beach. She was a communicant of Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Bradley Beach, and a member of its Rosary Altar Society. Surviving are her husband, Ralph H.

four sons, Ralph Neptune City, Michael, Bradley Beach, James, Toms River, and Timothy, Ocean Grove; a daughter, Mary Edna Schae-fer, Bradley Beach; two brothers, Peter Flood, Manchester) Township, and Charles Hood, Denison, Texas; a sister, Grace Rible, Belmar; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Booher was born in Brooklyn and moved to Keansburg 40 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church. Her husband, James, died in 1973. Surviving are two sons, James, New York City, and Edward, Keansburg; three daughters, Agnes Crabbe, New York; Dorothy Cruz and Marie Smith, both of Keansburg; two brothers, Wilfred Lacey, Plattsburg, N.Y., and Leo Lacy, Keansbuig; and five grandchildren. He also served on the policy committee, and was liaison between the board and the Raritan High School band parents.

"We're all going to miss him deeply," said Board President Edward J. O'Brien, who ran with Mr. Jones in both elections. "He put in a lot of effort sclflessly." Mr. Jones was a veteran of the Marine Corps, and a 1972 graduate of St.

Peter's College, Jersey City. He was a communicant of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holm-del Township. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ann Kozlowski; a son, Howard at home; tour daughters, Deborah, Donna, Denise, and Dawn, all at home; his mother, Veronica Jones, here; two brothers, Allen E. Jones, Syracuse, N.Y., and Garrett J.

Jones, Berkeley Township, and a granddaughter. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown Township, is in charge of arrangements. Wallace pietrewicz, 65, of Keyport, died Wednesday at Bayshore Community Hospital. Mr.

Pietrewicz was a lifelong resident of Keyport. He was a chemical operator, National Lead Sayreville, retiring in 1982, and a former member of the Hook and Ladder Company of the Keyport Fire Department. He was a communicant of the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Key-port. Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Wilson; two daughters, Louise Williams, Matawan, and Mary Ann, Corciona; three sisters, Sophia MacKinnon, Somerville, Stella Howard, New York, and Wanda Chokloa, Wood-bridge Township; and five grandchildren.

Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements. RENE L. HARDIN, 14, of Ocean Grove, died Wednesday at Somerset County Medical Center, Somerville. Miss Hardin was born in Kentucky and lived in Keansburg before moving to Ocean Grove a year ago. She had attended Keansburg Grammar School.

Surviving are her father, Maurice, of Kentucky, and her mother, Bernad-elta Brown, of Ocean Grove; a sister, Leah, Ocean Grove; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hemhau-ser, Middletown Township; and her paternal grandmother, Madeline Hardin, Kentucky. Dorothy d. ruber, of wana- massa, Ocean Township, died Wednesday at Monmouth Medical Center. Mrs. Ruber was born in New York City and lived in West New York before moving to Wanamassa many years ago. Her husband, Harold, died several years ago.

Memorial service Saturday. at the funeral home. HAZLET TOWNSHIP Howard F. Jones, 41, ice president of the Board of Education, who successfully spearheaded a move to keep several district schools open, died yesterday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holm-del Township. Born in Jersey City, Mr.

Jones moved here 18 years ago. He was employed as a manager by Blue Cross of New York for 23 years. Mr. Jones was elected to the school board in 1981 and was re-elected last year. He served as vice president for four years.

School officials yesterday expressed deep sadness upon learning of his death. "We're all in shock, it was all so sudden," said Superintendent of Schools Joseph A. Dispenziere. "He was a key member of the board and devoted a lot of lime to budgeting and negotiations." Elected on the Save Our Schools platform. Mr.

Jones opposed the board's closing of Sycanioie Drive Elementary School, and successfully campaigned the following year to reopen that school and prevent two others from being closed. He also was involved in the adoption of the district's long-range plan, which included the creation of two middie schools three yeais ago. ROBERT RICH, 58, of Little Silver, died yesterday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Mr. Rich was born in Jersey City and lived Floral Park, N.Y., before moving to Little Silver 25 years ago.

He was employed as a checker for Global Terminals, Port Newark, and was a 1947 graduate of the Kings Point Merchant Maiine Academy, N.Y. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 233, Red bank. He was born in Lynn, and lived in Kenilworth before moving to Berkeley 1 1 years ago. He was a tool and die maker for many years in North Jersey, retiring in 1970. He was a 60-year member of the Wilkins-Eureka Lodge 39, North Jersey; and the Ancient Accepted Order of the Scottish Rite. Surviving is his wife, Thelma.

She was founder and retired owner of Bille's Custom Shop, Poinl Pleasant. Surviving are her husband, Herbert; a son, James Truex, Point Pleasant; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gilmore was born in Newark and moved to Harrison 45 years ago. She worked in the maintenance department of the Washington Middle School for 20 years. Mrs. Gilmore was a member of the West Hudson Lodge 656, Loyal Order of Moose, Harrison.

She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church. Her husband, John died in 1969. Surviving are three sons, John and Terence, both Kearny, and Eugene, Harrison; two daughters, Kathleen Russell, Toms River, and Sharon Ca-trambone, Harrison; a brother, Michael Noon, Elizabeth; a sister, Virginia Paul-kawitz, Harrison, and 18 grandchildren.
