PARK SATURDAY, MAY 8, 2004 OBITUARIES Additional B4 BERNARD FEINBERG, 77, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Thursday, May 6 at St. Barnabas Hospice, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was a teacher for the West Long Branch Board of Education for 33 years. He was a member of the Congregation Brothers of Israel in West Long Branch; his family was among the congregation's founding members. He was born in Long Branch.

His family moved to the Bronx and after college, he moved to West Long Branch in 1953. Surviving are his wife, Joan; two sons, Lawrence Steven Feinberg and Michael Bruce Feinberg and his wife, Anne and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Joshua, all of West Long Branch. Services were held yesterday at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township. PALMIRA FLEGO. 98, of LITTLE SILVER, died on Friday, May 7, at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.

Born April 8, 1906 in Pola, Austria, she lived through World War World War II, and the Exodus of 1947 from Yugoslavia during the ethnic cleansing of the Italian people. She immigrated with her family to America on Nov. 7, 1951. She and her husband realized the American dream for all of their children. She resided in Brooklyn and then moved to New Jersey in 1962.

She lived in Little Silver since 1979. She was a member of Creative Hands in Shadow Lake Village, and was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcello Flego, in 1975. Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Mario and Amelia Flego of Little Silver, and Fulvio Flego of Farmingdale; her daughters and son-inlaw, Marisa Giusti of Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Gianna and Santo Puleo of Wading River, N.Y.; her sister, Livia Laurini of Italy; her nine grandchildren and their spouses, Anthony and Debbie Flego, Patricia and John Valenti, Michael Flego, Edward Flego, Stephen and Nancy Puleo, John and Kim Puleo, Stefan Flego, Roland Flego, and Matthew Flego, and nine great-grandchildren, Lisa Puleo, Santo Puleo, Marie Flego, Amelia Valenti, Stephen Flego, Annie Flego, Mario Flego, Joseph Puleo, and Samantha Puleo. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

HANSEN, 86, of MANASQUAN, died Wednesday, May 5, at Meridian Hospice, Brick. As a young man, he belonged to the Citizens Military Training Corps and then served with the U.S.

Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Army Reserve in 1952. He worked as an inspector for the U.S. Customs Service, retiring in 1977 after 25 years. of Manahawkin, STAFFORD, died Thursday, May 6, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. She graduated in 1945 from Benedictine Academy, Elizabeth. She began her career as a clerktypist for the Internal Revenue Service in Newark. In 1975, she became a certified home health aide with the Visiting Nurse Service of Westfield, rendering care to the homebound elderly for many years. She semi retired in 1986, and took a part -time position as a receptionist at the Westfield Animal Hospital.

She acquired the knowledge and skill to assist in pet care. Because of her love for the Jersey Shore, she and her husband retired to Manahawkin in 1991. They loved to travel, especially cruising to the Caribbean. Born in 1926 in Newark to Lucy and Octavio Casilli, she was raised in Elizabeth. After marrying in 1950, she moved to Westfield and then to Manahawkin.

She will always be remembered by her family as a spirited, loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Agliata and a sister, Norma Triarsi. Surviving are a brother, Raymond Casilli of Madison; a sister-in-law, Shirley Casilli; a son, Frank Agliata of Brick; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Agliata; three daughters, Patricia Agliata of Vineland, Francesca Agliata and Judith Ogonowski, both of Manahawkin; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Sara Beth, Michael and Jeffrey; a niece, Joanne Ayers and a nephew, Anthony Triarsi. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Monday at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Barnegat.

76, of HAZLET, died Friday, May 7 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a bus driver for Hazlet Township School District for 20 years, retiring at age 65. She was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. She was a member of the Hazlet Seniors. Born in Brooklyn, she lived there before moving to Hazlet 46 years ago.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert J.L. and Susan L. Raber Fox; her husband, William Bachmann and a son, John Bachmann. Surviving are two sons, William Bachmann and Tim Bachmann, both of Hazlet; a brother, Robert Fox of Nashville, and two grandchildren, William and John Bachmann. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

Joseph's Mausoleum, Keyport. PATRICIA J. "PAT" BROWN. 63, of Columbia, S.C., formerly of MIDDLETOWN, died Wednesday, May 5. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Lil Maguire.

Surviving are her husband; two brothers; three children; 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild. A funeral Mass will be held today at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church and interment will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. ROBERT BULLUS, 84, of MANALAPAN, died Friday, May 7 at The Manor in Freehold Township. He was a nuclear power engineer for General Electric New York City, for 37 years, retiring in 1983.

He was an Army Air Force veteran, serving during World War II for five and a half years. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, where he served as an usher. He was a member of St. Gabriel's bingo committee.

He was a member of the Father McGivney Post of Knights of Columbus, the VFW Post 4374 of Freehold, St. Clement's Senior Group and the Christian Neighbors of Covered Bridge. Born in Newark, he lived in Orange and Bayonne before moving to Manalapan 30 years ago. He was predeceased by a son, Donald, in 1957. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ann; a son, Raymond of Hanover; a daughter, Melanie Branon of Los Gatos, a sister, Joan Elizabeth Smith of South Carolina and five grandchildren.

DECKER 76, of Far Hills, whose wife and daughter live in MONMOUTH BEACH, died Wednesday, May 5 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was president and owner of Kennedy and Decker Coal Co. of Chatham and owned Charley's Aunt Restaurant, Chatham. He was a Navy and Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Pace University in New York City in 1954.

He was a member of the New York Coal Trade Association and past member of the Chatham Chamber of Commerce. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Convent Station, Morris Township, before moving to Far Hills five years ago. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Magdalena Rauh Decker and brothers George and William Decker. Surviving are his wife, Helen Ann Houston Decker of Monmouth Beach; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anne C. and Joseph Bogner of Monmouth Beach and Kathryn M.

DeckerScheetz and her husband, Thomas, of Monmouth Beach; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth M. and Linda Decker of Far Hills; and four grandchildren, J. Matthew and Elizabeth M. Bogner, K.M. Jake Decker and Helen Ann Decker-Scheetz.

She taught many as a remedial reading teacher during the 1960s at the Ranney School, Rumson; as a private tutor, and as a teacher of ballet. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Atlantic Highlands and Red Bank before moving to Tinton Falls eight years ago.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Evelyn Carey Blake; her husband, Eugene F. Hession Sr. in 1987, and a daughter, Frances Hession in 1991. Surviving are her two sons, John J. Hession, Esq.

of Copiague Harbor, N.Y. and Dr. Eugene F. Hession Jr. of Long Branch; two daughters, Peggy Gene Thom of Daytona Beach, and Marybeth Flaschbart, Ph.D., of Eagle, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

MAZZIE, of MATAWAN, died Wednesday, May 5, after suffering for over 10 years with Alzheimer's disease and being lovingly cared for at home by her nieces and nephews. A civil-service employee, she retired as an executive administrator to more than eight generals at Fort Monmouth, including Brig. Gens. John C. Monahan and Thomas Matthew Rienzi, and Maj.

Gens. Rockwell, Archibald and Horn. Upon retirement, in addition to many awards, she received a special citation from New Jersey for her years of dedicated service to the director of Joint Tactical Command Control and Communications and the Department of Defense. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, where she was active in the Rosary Society.

She was also a member of the Matawan Shade Tree Commission and the Democratic Society. Her mother lived to the age of 102 and had a special day proclaimed in her honor in Matawan when she turned 100. She will be remembered for her beauty, compassion and loving personality. She was a longtime resident of Matawan. She was predeceased by her parents, Rocco and Philomena Mazzie.

MARY MENDEL, 82, of Deerfield Beach, formerly of Wanamassa, OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Wednesday, May 5, at the Tranquillity Hospice Center, Austell, Ga. She was an active member of Temple Beth El, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Born in 1 Woonsocket, R.I., she lived in Wanamassa for 41 years before moving to Deerfield Beach 10 years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1997, and her brother, Philip, in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Greg Mendel of Short Hills, and Jeff Mendel of Portland, two daughters, Joyce Gunning of Ac- worth, and Elyse Mulryne of Hamilton; her brother, George Stein of Deerfield Beach; two sisters, Sylvia Trompeter of Tarzana, and Gloria Seitzman of San Antonio, Texas; 10 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at Temple Beth El Cemetery, Neptune. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township, is in charge of arrangements.

MARIE MIENERT, 89, of MATAWAN, died Sunday, May 2 at the Madison Center in Matawan. Born in Jersey City, she was a resident of Manasquan Park for over 45 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred E. Mienert, in 1976. Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Edmonds of California and Barbara Tuttle of Old Bridge, and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, 833 Route 34, Matawan. 3813 ANDREA PATERNITI MOSS, 63, of ALLENHURST, died Thursday, May 6, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. She retired as a teacher in special education with the Edison school system. She graduated from Metuchen High School and Georgian Court College, Lakewood. She was past president of the Metuchen Rotary Club. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

She was president of Answering Service and Century Communications. She was a member of the New Jersey Opera Guild and the JFK Auxiliary. She loved to cook. Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Edison before moving to Allenhurst 34 years ago. Surviving are her husband, David Moss, DMD, of Allenhurst; two sons, David Moss, DDS, and his wife, Vanessa, of Allenhurst, and Damon T.

Moss, D.C., and his wife, Stephanie, of Palm Beach Gardens, a daughter, Danielle Moss-Berk, J.D., and her husband, Stephen, of Atlanta; two brothers, Thomas H. Paterniti, DDS, and his wife, Helen, of Edison, and Carmen S. Paterniti and his wife, Nan, of Oldwick; one grandchild, Ian Berk, and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Leo's Parish, Irvington. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at St.

Leo's and at St. Mary's in New Monmouth, Middletown. She loved to play bingo and she was a regular at many bingo halls in the area. Born in 1913 in Newark, she lived there and in Irvington before moving to Belford, Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph E.

Scheick; a brother, Carl Corvi and a sister, Mary Mury. Surviving are a son, William Scheick of Austin, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Dolores Barton and Robert of Coral Springs, and Denise Hibell and William of Belford; and seven grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gimbel, Leahy, Quirk VFW Post 2226 and was past president of the Cooties, both of Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Born in New York, she lived in Newark before moving to Long Branch in 1965. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmine, in 1970 and a son, Carmine in 2001. Surviving are a daughter, Carol Ranko of Long Branch; a daughter-inlaw, Helen Viscel of Long Branch; a brother, Albert Malet of Kearny; four grandchildren, Maria Montosa, Michael and Joseph Ranko and Veronica Viscel and two great-grandchildren, Samantha Montosa and William Viscel.
