She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Mary Jennings Carhart. Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. MICHELENA, COLANGELO ROBERTSON, 77, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in Newark, she lived in Eatontown before moving to West Long Branch 15 years ago.

She was a homemaker. She loved pets and all animals and she donated money to all charities that were associated with animals. She also took in stray animals as pets. She was predeceased by her husband, Lenard Robertson; and a brother, Anthony Colangelo. Surviving are a son and daughter inlaw, Mark and Julie Robertson of a brother, Vincent Colangelo of Sarasota, two sisters and a son-in-law, Jean and Angelo Boniello of West Long Branch, and Mary Cleffie of Kissimmee, a granddaughter, Melissa Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Eatontown. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St.

COSTELLO, 80, of SEA GIRT, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18. He was was Navy Seabee veteran of World War II, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1948. Mr. Costello retired as chairman of the board of Lakeview Savings Bank, Paterson, in 1986.

He was born Sept. 12, 1924, in Paterson. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Rita Murner Costello; seven children, and 20 grandchildren. Viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall.

JEAN ELEANOR GETTIS DOLAN, 83, of WALL, died Fri- day, Dec. 17, at home. She was a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Dolan was a parishioner of St.

ARDALE. 84, of the Belford MIDDLETOWN, died Friday, Dec. 17, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a retired truck driver for Weiseman and Son Pork Products, Perth Amboy, and also Welin and Davit Boat Ally Fabrication, Perth Amboy, where he worked for 47 years, retiring in 1980. Mr.

Ardale was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Trenton, and Post 4303 Veterans of Foreign Wars, West Keansburg. Born July 28, 1920 in Newark, Mr. Ardale lived in Elizabeth, Hazlet and Keansburg, before moving to Belford 35 years ago.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Nickles Ardale, in 2001; his father, Robert A. Ardale; and his mother, Bertha Rolley. Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Reimer of Middletown; a son, Charles Ardale of New York; a sister, Viola Allen of Point Pleasant; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Bainbridge served as a firefighter with the Montclair Fire Department for 27 years before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant in 1977, and was a life member of the F.M.B.A. No. 20 in Montclair. He was a U.S.

Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Wales, Tunisia, and the Philippine Islands. He earned the Philippine Liberation Ribbon; the North A.M.E.., Asiatic, Pacific Theatre and American Theatre ribbons; and the Victory Medal. Born in Lowell, he lived in Montclair before coming to Wall in 1985. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret A. Flynn Bainbridge, in Aug.

2004. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia B. and John A. Toris of Brick; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. Jr.

and Sharon Bainbridge of Montclair; and his grandchildren, Sean and his wife Amanda, Lindsay, Beth Ann, and Bruce. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. The funeral will be offered at 9 a.m.

HAZEL POOLE BEATTY, 92, of LONG BRANCH, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a 1929 graduate of Long Branch High School and was a member of Chi Beta Chi Sorority. BERNER, 92, of Scotch Plains, whose son lives in INTERLAKEN, died Friday, Dec. 17, at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. She was a 1932. graduate of Brooklyn Business School. Grace was a financial clerk at the First Jersey Bank, Elizabeth, for many years.

She then worked as a sales assistant at Ginger's Bakery in Scotch Plains, retiring in 1975. Grace was a member of the Scotch Plains Senior Citizens Residence, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society, P.T.A., and a volunteer, all of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was raised in Springfield Garden, Queens, and lived in East Orange before settling in Scotch Plains in 1952. She was predeceased her husband, Albert in 1970; a brother, James Gavin; and two sisters, Gertrude Doherty and Sister M.

Antonietta O.P. Grace was a great lover of life and she is survived by two sons and a daughterin-law, the Rev. Albert J. Berner, chaplain-campus minister of Montclair State University, and James J. and Susan M.

of Interlaken; and two cherished grandsons, Andrew D. and James E. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Scotch Plains, and 7 to 7:30 p.m. at St.

STANEK DRISCOLL, 70, of HAZLET, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived on Staten Island before moving to Hazlet 37 years ago. She was a homemaker. She served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1984; and a son, Richard Driscoll, in 1994. Surviving are sons, Daniel Driscoll of Middletown, Jerry Driscoll of Hazlet, and Michael Driscoll of Marlboro; daughters, Kelly Mergner of Jackson, and Robin Serpico of Marlboro; sisters, Bonnie Hanes of Marietta, and Claudia Aizer of Rochester, N.Y.; granddaughters, Tanya, Renee, Danielle, Ashlee, Melissa and Kayla Driscoll, Kimberly Mergner, and Courtney Serpico; and grandsons, Michael and Jeffrey Driscoll, Lance Corporal Kyle Mergner, U.S. Marine, and Matthew, Andrew and Patrick Serpico III. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a long resident of Shadow Lake Village, Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife, Alaine, in 2000. Surviving are two sons, David Gary Eigen of Boca Raton, and Jonathan Russell Eigen of Amherst, Ohio; two daughters, Wendy Kaplan of Sea Bright, and Elisabeth Kaplan of Oceanport; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandson. Donations can be made in his memory to the Salvation Army or the local Kiwanis Club. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels is in charge of arrangements.

JOHN C. GILBERT, 66, of Port Royal, formerly of LONG BRANCH, died Saturday, Dec. 18, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, Pa. He was a retired carpenter, having worked in general construction. Mr.

Gilbert was a former captain and life member of the Branchport Hose Fire Company, Long Branch. He was born in Long Branch on Nov. 11, 1938, to the late John W. and Lillian D. Graver Gilbert.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pamela J. Waller Gilbert, on Jan. 1, 1997. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, John T. Gilbert Gretchen L.

of Port Royal, and Bradford W. Gilbert of Port Royal, a sister, Lois Taylor of Lake Wales, and two grandchildren, Paige Horning and Cassandra Gilbert. She was a medical coder employed by Riverview Medical Center before retiring three years ago.

Mrs. Homiak was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Highlands. She was a member of the DeLand Florida Elks Lodge 1463 and a former member of the Highlands First Aid Squad, Ladies Auxiliary Fire Department, Highlands, and the Highlands Recreation Committee. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she moved to Highlands when she was 7 and lived there until three years ago, when she moved to Florida. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jacob Thomas Flumer.

Surviving are her husband of 32 years, Michael J. Homiak of DeLand, a son, Robert Turner Jr. of Parsippany; two daughters, Terri Turner of Highlands, and Traci Turner-Flumer of Orange City, five granddaughters, Jessica Lea Turner, Heather Ann Turner, Nichole Deborah Boyer, Victoria Charlotte Calderon, and Dana Gates Flumer; two grandsons, Robert Vincent Turner III and Luke Michael Turner; a brother, Robert Notto of Orlando, and extended family, Kerry Gowan, Carly Gowan and Dylan Gowan, all of Highlands. The family will receive their friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

91, of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, died Sunday, Dec. 19, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mrs. Kenah was a homemaker and a loving mother to her children. She was a former member of the Fairway Mews Homeowners Association officer's board.

Mrs. Kenah was a communicant of St. Catharine's and St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Spring Lake, and a member of the St. Catharine's Association of Mature Persons (SCAMP).

Born and raised in Jersey City, she had lived in Maplewood before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1978. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Kenah in March of 1998. Surviving are her son, Thomas J. III of Long Valley; two daughters, Marybeth Walsh of Chester and Sea Girt, and Margaret Holsey of Denver, Colo.

LOUIS J. MICIONI. 79, of SPRING LAKE, died Saturday, Dec. 18, peacefully at his home. Mr.

Micioni was the owner and operator of Lou's Shoe Repair, Belmar, for 51 years, retiring in 1998. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Panama, and a communicant of St. Catha- rine's Church, Spring family was his life. Born in ton, he lived in Belmar Spring Lake Heights before ing to Spring Lake. Surviving are his wife Laura Ann Leeman We all miss you, your voice, your smile your phone calls.

Entombment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations to the St. Catharine's Restoration Fund or the Spring Lake First Aid would be appreciated. UMBERTO PETTIGNANO, 94, of MATAWAN, died Thursday, Dec. 16, in Victoria Health Care Center, Matawan.

He was a retired shoemaker and he owned and operated Graduate Shoe Rebuilders in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, N.Y., for 60 years, before retiring in 1996. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but grew up in San Salvador, Italy, before moving to Brooklyn in 1999. He then moved to Keyport and spent the last three years in Matawan. He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Millie Pettignano, on Dec. 12, 2004.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Dorothy Pettignano of Manchester, and Joseph and Linda Pettignano of Matawan; a sister and brother-in-law, Nasvada and Mario Giarratano; seven grandchildren; and seven great children. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m.

Tuesday at St. Clement Church, Matawan, followed by entombment in the Marlboro Memorial Mausoleum, Marlboro. Online condolences may be sent in his name via www.waittnelmsfh.com. SHELDON I. SACKS, 71, of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died Saturday, Dec.

18, of heart failure. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he attended James Madison High School and the School of Visual Arts. He served in the Army at Fort Campbell, Ky. An artist for more than 55 years, he illustrated numerous cookbooks, children's books and novelty books, including "Great Dinners from Life," "The Sand Lady" and the "JAP Handbook." Mr. Sacks' illustrations and drawings appeared in numerous publications, including "The New York Times," "Gourmet," "Bon Appetite" and "Good Housekeeping." He was an instructor of illustration at Parson's School of Design for more than 12 years.

He also taught at the Phoenix School and Moore College of Art. He was an exhibited artist at the Smithsonian Institute's Traveling Bicentennial Show, and a frequent contributor to art shows sponsored by the Monmouth County Library System, among others. He was a member of the Society of Illustrators, the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and a long. time supporter of the New Jersey Symphony. A successful kidney transplant recipient for 20 years, Sheldon was also a lifelong member of Red Sox Nation and a member of the BLOHARDS, the Benevolent Loyal Order of the Honorable Ancient Red Sox Diehard Sufferers of New York.

Sheldon was an avid gardener, and pipe and fountain pen collector, and lover of fine arts and opera. Although not a religious man, he believed in God and saw His handiwork reflected in everyday things, especially in nature and animals. He was a generous person who believed that it truly was better to give than to receive, and often gave both friends and strangers his pictures, and treasures from his numerous collections. He was blessed with wonderful friends who survive him. He is also survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcia; two daughters, Jennifer of Holmdel and Amy of Portland, a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Alena of Neptune City; a sister, Gloria Valenza and a niece, Tasia, of Los Angeles, a grandniece and nephew, Milena and Asher; a nephew, Tor Valenza of Oxford, two cats, Lady and Fizzy; and numerous cousins.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township, with burial to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation (PKDF) in Kansas City, or to the ACLU Foundation in New York. Lou's Boonand mov- of 55.
