Born in Bronx, N.Y., she resided: in Brooklyn most of her life before moving to Howell 17 years ago. She was a member of the Howell Senior Citizens Club and crafts were her passion as was donating them to various organizations. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, William, in 1992. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Bonnie of Manalapan, and Peter and Freya of Manalapan: and her three grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam and Heather. Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 10 a.m.

Mr. Smith was born in East Orange and had lived in Old Bridge before moving to Manalapan Twp. in 1986. He was a Project Manager for Solondz Developers, Roselle Park, for 31 years. He was a Senior Property Manager at Legow Management LLC, Livingston for 19 years.

Mr. Smith was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during World War II. He attended Newark College of Engineering and enjoyed reading and was a tractor enthusiast, a knowledgeable man who shared his abilities, thoughtfulness, and creativity with countless others. His willingness to help will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth in 1996; and a son, Kevin, in 1985. He is survived by 2 sons, Thomas Smith of Wall NJ, and Daniel Smith of Dayton, NJ; 1 Daughter, Carol D'Aloia of Lakewood, NJ; 1 Brother, Raymond Smith of Deerfield Beach, FL; 9 Grandchildren; and 2 Great Grandchildren. Brack, 79, of Palm City, FL died Sunday Jan. 25, 2009 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Mr. Brack retired in 1981 from Service, Inc, Secaucus, NJ as a truck driver. He was born in Jersey City, living in Secaucus and Forked River, NJ before moving to Palm City, FL in 2001.

Mr. Brack was predeceased by his wife Carol in 2000, a brother Robert, and sisters Lillian Collamore and Gabrielle DiRisi. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth, Forked River, NJ and Martin, Jupiter, FL and his grandchildren, Kenneth Maureen Pryor and her husband Douglas. THOMAS BODINE AGE: 80 ISLAND HEIGHTS C. Thomas Bodine, 80, of Island NJ, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at his residence. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Bodine moved to Island Hts.

after graduating from college. He was a teacher at Central Regional High School since its opening in 1956; he retired in 1989. The husband of the late Jackie; Mr. Bodine is survived by 3 children, Thomas and Gary Bodine and Karen Tupper. He is also survived by a brother, Paul, and 5 grandchildren, Donovan, Vanessa and Cameron Bodine and Robert and Elizabeth Tupper.

Buckwalter, 77, of Holiday City Section of Berkeley Township, Died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

Born in Island Heights and lived in Philadelphia and Florida before moving to Holiday City, 12 years ago. He was a for upper Marion Board of Ed for 25 years until retiring in 1987, also he was a for 12 years at Valley Forge Military Academy. George was a U.S. Army Veteran and a Honorary Volunteer Navy Recruiter. Member of the Upper Marion Retired Teachers Assoc.

Brother to Charles R. of Toms River and the Late Robert C. Also surviving are nieces Suzanne Callan, Melissa Jaycox, and Georgia Harper. Forked River, NJ. ROBERT M. CASSIN AGE: 78 BARNEGAT Robert M. Cassin, 78, of Barnegat, passed Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009.

Born in Belleville, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 1000. Employed as a manager at Prudential Insurance Co. for 40 years, he retired in 1990. His civic minded devotion as a member in the Belleville Foundation for 20 years, past president of Kiwanis Club, Varsity Club, Adult School Board member, and Little League baseball coach, led to him being honored in 1996 by the Belleville Athletic Council, Hall of Fame Association and the community for his good humored, sensible and intelligent approach to problem solving, and for his untiring efforts to improve the quality of athletics and education for the young people of Belleville.

Upon retiring to Barnegat 12 years ago, he became active in the Knights of Columbus, Beach Haven Council and the Italian American Club. Predeceased by a brother, Edward, he is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jennie Goione Cassin; two daughters, Joan and her husband Robert Lee, and Teresa Cassin; a son, Robert Cassin Jr. and his wife Barbara; four grandchildren, Michele and Jonathan Pennetti, Robert III and Alexandra Cassin; and a cousin, Stephen Martin. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Conforti Colangelo, 80, of Brick, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Laurelton Village Nursing Home. She was a homemaker. Born in Newark, she lived in Hazlet before moving to Brick four years ago. She was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry J. Colangelo. Surviving are a son, Harry E. Colangelo of Little Egg Harbor; three daughters, Brenda DeRose of Wall, Patricia Gatto of Brick, and Melinda Jeski of Brick; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Franklin was the owner of Franklin Vitamins, Forked River. John was born in Newark living there until moving to Forked River section of Lacey Township in 1980. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Grace Franklin. Surviving is a brother Mark, Somerset, NJ and his sister and her husband Marianne Salvatore Cicco, and a niece Grace Cicco of Lanoka Harbor, Lacey.

NANCY JOAN JACOBUS AGE: 65 LAKEWOOD Nancy Joan Jacobus, 65, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at her home, surrounded by the of love of her family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hackensack, she grew up in Maywood where she graduated from Bogota High School.

She attended and graduated from the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, where she was awarded the William Reginald Morse Scholarship. In 1964, she proudly embarked upon her career as a registered nurse, and after taking time away to raise her three children, she returned to her calling and worked for Visiting Home Care Service of Ocean County for the past 18 years and retired as a case manager. Nancy was predeceased by her father, Herbert W. Cook; and her stepfather, Theodore "Teddy-boy" Weber. She is survived by her mother, Audrey Weber; her daughter, Lori Chadwick and her husband Scott of Bonita Springs, her son, Michael Jacobus and his wife Dawn of Toms River; her daughter, Karin Jacobus of Greenville, S.C.; and her beloved grandchildren, Chloe Chadwick, Michael and Kira Jacobus.

Nancy is also survived by her brother, Herbert W. Cook; three nieces; two nephews; and a large, close circle of fabulous friends. Born in New York, NY, she spent her childhood in Newark, NJ, living in Irvington and Colonia thereafter, before moving to Berkeley Township 12 years ago. She worked as a bank teller and mortgage representative for Pulaski Savings and Loan in Irvington and Springfield before retiring in 1996. She was a member of Holiday City Berkeley Women's Club. She: is predeceased by her husband Martin. She is survived by her children, Martin J.

Gaffney of Oceanside, Steven J. Gaffney of Brick, NJ, and Teresa M. LAWLESS AGE: 70 TOMS RIVER Ruth M. Lawless, 70, of Toms River, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was formerly of Old Bridge before moving to Toms River six years ago. She worked for Carroon Black Insurance Brokers, Manhattan, N.Y.

for 35 years before her retirement in 1998. Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Thomas; her children, Robert Wingler of Jackson, Sherry Wingler of Bloomingburg, N.Y., Thomas Jr. of Cranbury, and William of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Tyler, Ryan, Aiden, Amanda, Nicole, and Alec; and a great-grandson, Robbie. JOHN J. LENNON AGE: 76 WHITING John J. Lennon, 76, of Whiting, Manchester, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, Browns Mills. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he resided in Flushing, N.Y.

and Tulsa, Okla. before moving to Whiting in 1977. John worked for Cities Service Oil Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1976. John was U.S.

Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a DAV life member. He was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church, Lakehurst. John is survived by his brother, Joseph Lennon of Whiting; a sister, Cecelia Bacon of Queens, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. HELEN MC LAUGHLIN AGE: 95 JACKSON Helen McLaughlin, 95, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. Mrs. McLaughlin was born and raised in Jersey City and settled in Jackson three years ago.

Mrs. McLaughlin was a homemaker and member of St. Aden's Church, Jersey City. a Mrs. deceased by McLaughlin her was parents, preStanley and Wanda Tulodziecksi; and her husband, Edward McLaughlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret lorio; her son, Richard McLaughlin; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. EDWARD I EVERETT HAINES MERCER AGE: 94 LAKEWOOD Edward Everett Haines Mercer, 94, of Lakewood, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.

Born in South Amboy, he lived there for 60 years before moving to Manahawkin for 20 years and Lakewood since July. He was a foreman for DuPont, Parlin for 33 years before his retirement in 1974. He was a charter member of the Bayview Rod Gun Club and a charter member of the South Amboy Tigers AC. He was in the Army Reserves for over 30 years and served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, in 2002; and three brothers. Surviving are his children, Edward and Sue of Brick, and MaryAnn of Manchester; his grandchildren, Everett of Hutto, Texas, Kathleen Niznik of Nashville, Christopher of Brick, Ronald of Centreville, and Michael of Brick; and four great Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood.

Born in Bayonne, she lived there and in Brick before moving to Manchester. She was a wonderful painter using both oils and pastels. She loved to sew, travel, listen to music, and attend Broadway shows. She is predeceased by a son, Paul Merkowsky who died in 2006; and by her husband, John Merkowsky, who died in 1989. Surviving are 2 daughters, Maureen Piserchia of Manchester and Joan Erickson of Jackson; and 2 grandchildren, George and Katherine Erickson.

24, 2009, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Waverly, N.Y., he had lived in Freehold before moving to Point Pleasant 34 years ago. He was employed by the Freehold School District, Freehold as a Building and Grounds Supervisor. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1970-1973.

He was a member and deacon of Shore Christian Center, Allenwood. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Manion Pierce; his father, Rev. Walter C. Pierce of Parish, four daughters, Kimberly and Bill Raimondi of Jackson, Kristine and Stephen Yellovich of Brick, Karen and Brian Luff of Beachwood, and Katherine Pierce of Point Pleasant; a sister, Karen and Roy Harvey of Brick; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Lauren, Matthew, Allison and Kaitlyn. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.

Art was a lifelong educator, entrepreneur, night club owner and horsemen. He owned numerous New Jersey and Florida entertainment venues, including the Playpen North and South, the Royal Manor in Wall, the Headliner in Neptune, along his daughter the Birchhill in Old Bridge He had lifelong love of thoroughbred horse racing and owned Stockland Farms in Wall, Colts Neck and Ocala where he raised thoroughbred horses. Mr. Stock also taught industrial art classes and coached basketball at several high schools throughout New Jersey. He was born in Irvington and lived in Fort Lauderdale and Colts Neck before moving to Wall in 1981.

He is survived by his daughters, Tara M. Stock of Neptune, and Kelly Ann Bowen and her husband Pascoe of Glenville, and a stepson, Sean Magovern of Avon by the Sea. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.
