ASBURY PARK EVENING PRESS, Dee. 6, 1968 29 rrns Boston State Seniors Tin eat to the Hawks 'New Jersey FIRST INSTALLATION of Mechanical Man Equipment" WINTERIZE BANGOR, Me. Boston State College's pair of talented seniors, 6-3 Rod Forbes and 6-4 Joe Casev. nromise to nrovide plenty of trouble for Monmouth ezek 5.5. Haas and Mclntyre give the Hawks plenty of backboard muscle.

One of the tourney's spotlighted players will be Little Ail-American Rod Butler of Western New England. In a visit to New Jersey Wednesday night, Butler pumped in 52 points in a 106-104 victory over Paterson State. A Monmouth scout saw that performance and raved "that guy's almost impossible to stop." He was one of 75 players still on the Bamm Hollow Country Club's expanse when a freak localized storm whirled in on 50-mile winds and deposited a half-inch of snow in less than half an hour. That put an end to the tournament of the Shore Winter Golf League that had drawn 98 players. Only 23 finished their rounds before the storm struck, bringing snow in horizontal sheets that obliterated all landmarks from 150 feet. The field scuttled for the clubhouse and the grill did a land-office business in hot drinks, spirits, and sandwiches as the players thawed out from their walk from all four corners of the course. The next event is next Thursday at Metuchen Golf Country Club, and everyone who played yesterday is automatically paid up for next week.

Professionals will be asked to pay again next week and play for the double pot. College Hawks in tomorrow night's opening round game of the fourth annual Paul Bunyan Basketball Tournament. Forbes averaged 20.4 points last year while Casey scored 12 per game and averaged 19 rebounds per contest. Both are in top shape again. Other starters for the Boston squad (1-1 thus far) are 6-2 junior Kim Way, 5-8 junior Bill Poehler, and 6-3 junior Tom Fallano.

The game starts at 7 p.m. with host Husson College taking on Western New England College at 9. The championship final takes place at 5:30 Sunday. Monmouth will put its 2-0 record on the line with its usual four-senior, one-junior starting lineup in top form. Ron Korne-gay, the 5-7 fireball of a back-courtman, is hitting at a 33.5 point clip and has connected on 63 per cent of his shots.

John Barone, the lone junior starter, is averaging 15.5, John Haas 14, Jim Mclntyre 12.5 and Lou Sni- ei Swimmers Lose PRINCETON Princeton University's swim team beat Monmouth College, 77-36, Wednesday. Ken Tillman stood out in Monmouth's losing cause with three first places. He won the 1,000 yd. freestyle in took the 200 individual medley in 2:06.5, and won the 500 freestyle in 5:11.7. The Monmouth 400 freestyle relay team of Tom Wheeler, Mike Clifford, Ken Penska, and Dave Hartman was the only other winner for the Hawks.

Quarterback Brian Dowling and Calvin Hill, who rewrote the Yale record book, were unanimous choices, completing a sweep of All-East, All-Ivy League and All-New England honors. Joining them on the offensive unit were tackle Kyle Gee, end Bruce Wenstein and Gee, end Bruce Weinstein and center Fred Morris.

Dave Bennett, who helped Boston College to a 6-3 record with 16 touchdowns this year, was named the other running back with Hill and Gatto. The defensive all-New England choices included end Ralnh Tiner of Connecticut; tackles Joe Lanzilli of Northeastern and Ernie Babcock of Dartmouth; middle guard Dick Kroner of Boston College; linebackers Ross Wilson of Williams and Ken Kuzman of Rhode Island; and backs Jay Donabedian of Boston University and John Salmon of Boston College.
