He worked for the Bendix Corp. of Teterboro for 37 years before retiring in 1986. Mr. Alexander was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army and he received the Purple Heart.

He was a life member of the DAV Ocean County Chapter 24. Mr. Alexander was born in Scotland and lived in Paramus before moving to Toms River in 1987. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Annette; one sister, Catherine Schantz of Bridgewater; four nieces Nancy Sullivan and her husband Rahn Matt of and her Barnegat, husband An: nette Frank of Palo Alto, CA, Donna LoStocco and her husband Gaspar of Bridgewater and Marilyn Egles of Bridgewater; one nephew, John Alexander of Manahawkin. Visiting will be Friday from 9:30 a.m.

AGE: 88 TOMS RIVER Howard "Justin" Asay 88, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia PA, he was a lifelong resident of Toms River. For many years he owned and operated Asay's Floor Service. He retired as a carpenter after 15 years with Carpenter Millwirght Local 2018 in Ocean County. Mr.

Asay was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Toms River. He was a charter and life member of Toms River Elks Lodge 1875 and a member of American Legion Post 0129 in Toms River. During WWII he proudly served in the United States Air Force. Mr.

Asay enjoyed boating, fishing, decoy carving and winters in Bokeelia, FL. He was predeceased by two brothers, Trevor and George Asay and a sister, Lois Bunnell. Surviving are his devoted wife, Marie B. "Gibson" Asay of 65 years; his beloved children, 'Catherine Binkley, Howard Asay and his wife Kathleen, Justine Granberg and her husband Wally, and Dennis Asay and his wife Sharon; his loving grandchildren, Joseph and Lisa Meyer, Amanda Binkley, Erin and Casey Long, Emily and Katey Asay, Calvin Steffler, Tania and Darren McGee, and D.J. and Kristin Asay; and cherished great grandchildren, Caia and Aidan McGee.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Toms River. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Toms River.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River NJ 08753. JEAN CORALLO AGE: 69 WHITING Jean Corallo, 69, of Whiting passed away on April 15, 2009 in Whiting, NJ. Born in Paterson, NJ, Jean lived most of her life in Fairlawn, NJ before moving to Whiting 12 years ago.

She was employed as a secretary at Grand Union in Elmwood Park for over 30 years. She is predeceased by her father, Sam Corallo and mother, Daisy (Ferrari) Corallo. She is survived by her sister and her husband, Frances and Richard Szabo of Georgia. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jean will be missed by her friends here in the Whiting area.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church. JOHN E. DEVINE AGE: 71 JACKSON John E.

Devine, of Jackson, formerly of the Iselin section of Woodbridge Township, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Deborah Heart Lung Hospital, Browns Mills. He was 71 years old. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in the Colonia and Iselin sections of Woodbridge Township before moving to Jackson seven years ago. He was a communicant of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Colonia.

He was employed as The Tour Guide for Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Newark for 41 years, retiring in 1994. He was predeceased by his wife, Julie M. Devine, who died in 1998. He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen M. Poggioli and her husband Joseph of Jackson; two sons, John E.

Devine Jr. and his wife Shannon of Belle Mead, and Kevin J. Devine and his wife Janice. of Pataskala, Ohio; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 23 at Costello- Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Avenel. The funeral will take place at 9:15 a.m. Friday, April 24 from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St.

KERRIGAN AGE: 74 BARNEGAT Joseph F. Kerrigan, 74, passed Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Newark and raised in Hillside, he was employed by the Prudential Insurance, Co. in Newark and Holmdel, retiring i in 1993 after 42 years. Formerly of Middletown, he moved to Heritage Bay in Barnegat 10 years ago, where he enjoyed many activities, including the Trips Travel Club, Investment Club, Neighborhood Watch and the weekly card game with neighbors.

A communicant of St. Mary's Church, he was a volunteer at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Surviving are his beloved wife of 52 years, Muriel M. Musik Kerrigan; two daughters, Karen and her husband John Pittner of Middletown, and Lisa and her husband Ed Piotrowski of Morganville; a son, Bob and his wife Donna Kerrigan of Howell; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard, Michael, Jessica, Vanessa, RJ, Sabrina, Lauren, Eric, Ashley, and Natalie; a brother, William and his wife Beverly Kerrigan; and a sister, Eileen Link. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

GAIL B. KOPLIN AGE: 86 BERKELEY Gail B. Koplin, 86, of the Silver Ridge Park North section of Berkeley, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City. Born in Hellertown, he lived in Toms River and Pine Beach before moving to Berkeley in 2005. Gail was a Math Professor at Ocean County College, Toms River for 21 years, retiring in 1987.

Prior to Ocean County College, he was a math teacher at Union County Regional High School in Springfield and Clark for 16 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps World War II veteran, serving in India for three years. Mr. Koplin graduated from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA, receiving a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics.

He then received a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Montclair State College. Gail was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beachwood, and Village Lutheran Church, Lanoka Harbor. He was a member of both church's choir for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 129, Toms River, a life member of the NJEA and was an Eagle Scout.

He was predeceased by his son, David, in 1994. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Belles Koplin; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Carl and Chrisie Koplin of Tolland, two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Dr. Carl Overmiller of Daniels, W.Va., and Nancy Koplin of Beachwood; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Koplin of Louisville, a sister, Nola Freudenberger of Hellertown, seven grandchildren, Andrew and Todd Koplin, Melodie and Samantha Koplin, Alex, Cherie, and Holly Overmiller; and two greatgrandchildren, Kelsey and Ethan McKnight. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

LANIEWSKI AGE: 75 LAKEWOOD Leonard W. Laniewski, 75, of Lakewood, NJ and Port Saint Lucie, FL, passed away on April 19, at Saint Lucie Medical Center. Leonard was born Detroit, MI, and lived in Verona for many years before moving to Lakewood and Port Saint Lucie. He worked as an aeronautical engineer for Allied Signal in Teterboro, NJ, for 34 years retiring in 1989. Leonard was an Army Veteran, a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Fr.

James J. Kelly Council 3632, Verona, past president of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona, and member of the Old Guard, Point Pleasant, NJ. Leonard was predeceased by his mother, Agnes; father and stepmother, Walter and Ann Laniewski; his sisters, Evelyn Lukazewski and Emily Bensen; and brother, Edward Lukazewski. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne; his children and their spouses, Laura LaFronz and Thomas, Vicky Marateo and Joseph, Scott Laniewski and Charlene, and Glenn Laniewski, and his grandchildren Christopher, Kimberly, Matthew, Kyle, Meaghan. O'Neill, 84, of Brick, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at home. He was an electrician for Two E's Electric, Lyndhurst for 36 years, retiring 22 years ago. He was a' World War II Navy veteran and attained the rank of Gunners Mate 2nd Class. After serving in World War II, James developed a deep interest; and his own library of Military History. He also belonged to several local veterans groups and loved to garden.

He was a communicant of Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Brick. Born in Newark, he lived in Pompton Plains before moving to Brick 41 years ago. James was predeceased by his parents, James A. and Mary Cole O'Neill; his sister, Dorothy Molitoris; and his brother, Robert. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary McLaughlin O'Neill; a son, James S.

and his wife Mary O'Neill of Brick; three daughters, Marybeth O'Connell of Bel Aire, Rev. Alice and her husband John Seccafico of Toms River, and Kathryn and her husband Gary Glatt of Brick; a brother, Richard O'Neill of Punta Gorda, a sister, Marie Simonsen of Randolph; and 10 grandchildren, Patrick, Jonathan and James S. O'Neill Erin and Maureen O'Connell, Sarah, and Robert and his wife Alice Connelly, and Leah, Gary, and Kaitlyn Glatt. Viewing hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. 7 to 9 p.m.

ANTHONY FRANCIS PETERSON AGE: 80 EDISON Anthony Francis Peterson, 80, of Edison, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at JFK Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Avenel.

He resided in Edison since 1956, prior to Woodbridge. He was a tax assessor for Woodbridge Township for 20 years. Prior to that, he worked for Chevron Oil and Prudential Insurance Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He also attended Rutgers University. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church. He was a member of the Woodbridge Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Catherine Bush Peterson of Edison; five children, Mark Peterson and his partner John Traier of Clifton, Barbara Ann Peterson of Bedminster, Thomas Peterson and his wife Joanne of Belle Mead, Timothy Peterson and his wife Lori of Manalapan, and Edward Peterson and his wife Jeanne of Woodbridge; six grandchildren, Jaclyn, Ryan, Jessica, Craig, Eric, and Dana; and two brothers, Raymond Peterson of Milltown, and Bernard Peterson of Manchester. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

Gingerelli was born and lived in Nutley until moving to Belleville 60 years ago. He was a General construction foreman for Cerami Construction of Belleville for 40 years before retiring. Mr. Gingerelli also was an Army Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Ann (Cerami) Gingerelli; His sons, Frank Gingerelli and his wife Lia and Charles Gingerelli and his wife Rhonda also his daughter, Janis Nicosia and her husband Kenny; his brothers, Louis and Robert Gingerelli and his cherished grandchildren, Angelo Gingerelli, Angela Gingerelli, AnneMarie Gingerelli, Licia Nicosia, Arianna Gingerelli and Kenny Nicosia Jr.

Mr. Gingerelli was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Natalie Gingerelli. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley 540 Franklin Ave. on Friday April 24, 2009 at 9: 30 a.m. There will be a funeral mass in his memory at Holy ily Church Nutley at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be on Wednesday evening April 22, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday April 23. from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. PHILIP AUSTIN MCGUIRE AGE: 76 SHALLOTTE, NC Philip Austin McGuire, 76, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Life Center, Whiteville, N.C., with his loving family at his bedside.

Born Feb. 7, 1933 in Livingston to the late Philip Austin and Nora A. St. Onge McGuire. Phil graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and the University of Wichita, Kansas.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was honorably discharged attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He also worked for Boeing Aircraft as a jet engine mechanic specialist J-33. He worked for many years as National Sales Mgr. for Newark Wire Cloth Newark, and then opened his own sales company, PAM Sales, Inc.

He was currently Regional Manager for SRS Engineering Corp in Murrieta, Calif. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert D. Mooney, of Florida, in 2008; and a sister-in-law, Nathalie Mooney Malbaurn, in 2000. Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years, Jane A. Mooney McGuire; son, Kevin Austin; daughter, Stacey Ann McGuire Veth, husband, Edward; a grandson, Colin Joseph Veth; brothers-in-law, Tom Mooney of CA, Gerard Mooney of PA, Ron Mooney, NJ, James C.

Mooney, of HI, their wives, many nieces and other extended family. No local services will be announced.
