HAVILAND, SR. AGE: 98 MILLSTONE TWP. Howard R. Haviland, 98, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone Township passed away, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 in Ohio.

He was born on May 23, 1912 in Holmeson, the son of the late Reuben and Adleona Storer Haviland. He was a member of B.P.O.E Lodge No. 2613, Millstone Township, and an Ex-Chief of the Millstone Township Fire Company. He was an AMWAY distributor and worked for 30 years at the A. M.

Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Gladys Haviland; his children, Howard and Elsie Haviland, of Delaware, Jan and Jay Robson, of Ohio, Judy and Chuck Simmons, of California, Glenn and Karin Haviland, of New Jersey, Alan and Ruthi Haviland, of California; 14 grandchil m'ish Association, the 69th New York Historical Association and the 13th New Jersey Infantry and was affiliated with the New Jersey Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee. He also was a long time member of the Al-lenhurst Beach Club. Bud was predeceased by his parents Maurice A Scully, Sr. and Margaret (Lynch) Scully.

1 Surviving are his wife Christine Boylan-Scully; his five children: Jason Scully, Brooklyn, NY; Megan Scully, Boston, MA and Brian Scully, Staten Island, NY; two stepdaughters: Cherie Wilson and her husband Robert, Ocean Township and Mela-nie Cross at home; three brothers: Honorable Thomas Scully, Fair Haven, James Scully, Freehold, Neal Scully, Manasquan and Edward Scully, Neptune City; and two sisters: Margaret Walsh, Arlington, VA and Maureen Egan McLean, VA; his father-in-law and friend Edward Boylan; sister-in-law Mary Boylan; bother-in-law Brian Boylan all of Ocean Township; two grandchildren: Julia and Aidan Wilson both of Ocean Township and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be in Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Asbury Park on Monday, Nov. 15 from 2-4 and 7-9pm; a Funeral Mass will be held in St. Jerome's Church, W. Long Branch at 10 am on Tuesday.

Inter WILLIAM J. GOSHA AGE: 81 KEANSBURG William J. Gosha, 81, of Keansburg, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born July 10, 1929 in Staten Island, NY, and has been living in Keansburg for the past 34 years.

He was a retired Parts Manager for House of Chrome in Irving-ton. Area children knew him as the owner of Bill's Bike Shop which he operated out of his garage. William was an Army Veteran and belonged to VFW post 4303 in West Keansburg, Bayshore Chapter of Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 273. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Alice Gosha of Keansburg; daughter, Sharon Gosha her husband, Harlan Cooper of Trumbull, CT; son, William A. his wife, Patricia Gosha of Longwood, FL; son, Michael his wife, Deborah Gosha of Naugatuck, CT; daughter, Gail her husband, Francis Winkler of Keansburg, NJ; Kathleen her husband, David Eckert of Keansburg; son, David his wife, Margaret Gosha, of Keansburg; daughter, Deb Ellen R.

Kukasch, 82, Of Holmdel, passed away on Friday, November 12th at the Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Passaic, N.J. Mrs. Kukasch lived in Holmdel for 46 years. She was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School, and was an Execu tive Secretary at Charles of the Ritz in Holmdel.

She be longed to Cross of Glory Lu theran Church, and was a member of the Altar Guild. She participated in Project Linus and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Mrs, Kukasch was an elected member of the Holmdel Re publican Municipal Com mittee, and a former Coun cil President of Good Shep herd Lutheran Church in Holmdel. Surviving are her hus band of 58 years, Herbert; a son Carl; and a daughter Loraine. Visitation is on Monday 2- 4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Holmdel NJ.

She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Helen Guth. passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010. He was born in Bekescseba, Hungary in 1928, the 2nd oldest of 7 children. His 6 brothers and sisters and his mother were all murdered between 1944 and 1945 in the Holocaust. He barely survived the slave labor camp at Muldorf, Germany. He immigrated to Israel in 1946.

He volunteered to serve during the War of Independence in 1948. He also fought bravely in the Israeli Army in the Sinai war of 1956. In August of 1948 he married Rebecca in Haifa. In Israel he worked in construction as a private contractor, and also as a construction supervisor. In 1961 he immigrated to America with his wife and 3 children and settled in NY.

He worked in the construction industry and was responsible for the rehabilitation of many buildings in Manhattan. In 1975 the family moved to Bradley Beach, NJ. There he was a member of Temple Agudath Achim. In 1978 he retired from construction but continued to work with his wife Rebecca in their clothing store in Bradley Beach. He was a non-materialistic person who gained satisfaction from helping others, especially his immediate family members.

He regularly donated to local public agencies and to Jewish and Israeli organizations. He worked tirelessly for the welfare of his family, eagerly working on many fix-up projects at his home and at his children's homes. He en joyed fresh water fishing, cooking gourmet meals, taking walks and spending time with his family and his extended family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He died peace fully at his home with his family after struggling with cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

He is survived by his lov ing wife, Rebecca, his 3 children; Sarah of Manchester, NJ, Sam of Manalapan, NJ and Carmella of Airmont, NY, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Blomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Twp. was in VINCENT "JIM" PANELLA AGE: 90 OCEAN GROVE Vincent "Jim" Panella passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at the age of 90. He was a loving father, hus band, grandfather and great grandfather.

He was born in Naples Italy, but at a young age America became his home. He served valiantly in Europe during WWII. He was actively involved with The Disabled American Vet erans Administration, the American Legion, and the American Veterans Society Jim took life's adventures head on and never backed away from helping his fami ly or friends. All who knew him loved his great sense of humor and passion for life. He is survived by his two children, Ralph and Denise; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

MAURICE A. (BUD) SCULLY, JR. AGE: 62 OCEAN TOWNSHIP Maurice A. (Bud) Scully of Ocean Township, died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune, NJ.

Born in Newark, Mr. Scully was a long time resident of Ocean Township. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University and received his Master's degree from Trenton State College. He was recently employed by the NJ State Parole Board Division of Community Programs. Prior to this, he worked as a Social Worker in the Addictions field for over 40 years.

Bud was compassionate, caring and loved by many people. He helped thousands of people in many ways during his ca reer in the human services field. A member of the Monmouth County Board of Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Bud was most recently Chairman of its Nominating Committee. He was a lifelong history enthusiast with a deep and abiding love of the Civil War era. Bud was a public historian who participated in reenactments and living history events, in particular with organizations representing Irish-American and New Jersey units from the Civil War Centennial from 1961 to the present.

He was a member of the 69th New York Infantry of the North-South Skir- The Officers, Trustees and Members of the Hollywood Golf Club note with sorrow the passing of their longtime friend and member, Richard "Ted" Grad.
