With Donovan keying on Engelken, the Panthers utilized running back Joe Bontempo and quarterback Shane O'Connor in their rushing attack and churned out numerous big plays. "That's why we call it the Triple Option," Point Boro coach Calvin Thompson said. "You gotta stop all three." Point Boro began its offensive pulled to within 7-6 when O'Connor hit Bob Stowe for a 94-yard touchdown pass. Donovan upped the lead to 13-6 with an 81-yard drive in the second quarter, scoring on Wells' 1-yard touchdown run.
