PARK EVENING Norell By MARIAN CHRISTY NEW YORK Designer Norman Norell, now 71 and quite unready to call it quits, thinks hereted and everyone to on dreams. impossible. people in the autumn of life always project wisdom: "Man cannot live by bread alone," says Noreli. "Illusion is our survival course." Norell certainly is translating what he terms "mass for harmless hallucihunger," into his dazzling evening fashions and the memorable Norell perfume which men sniff-sniff and rave about. Norell's evening clothes with prices up to $5,000 an outfit glitter with sequins, flutter with feathers or drip with fur.

That perfume is $45 an ounce. "I really believe in the Cinderella story," he says. "I don't see why a woman who is a dud can't become a superstar." He's the first to admit it takes money to glorify oneself. LAST YEAR he talked seriously about doing a boutique collection. Something far less expensive than his couture line.

The idea fizzled when every major American city became "boutique'd" to death. "It's time for fashion drama to make a comeback." Norell's fantasy fashions, reeking top-level quality, are only in 65 American stores a drop in the bucket of United States retailing. "But you'd be surprised at how many women want to be played up via fashion not down," says Norell, who is doing a whizbang business. MARRIED Miss Ronnie Pinsker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

The ceremony in Woodlake Country Club, Lakewood, was performed by Rabbi Paul Levovitz and Cantor Aaron Lieber of Congregation Sons of Israei, Lakewood. They will reside in Ithaca, N.Y. Last week he had a big hole in the seat of his pants. It took a courageous -worker to let him in on the news. Norell, who hates store shopping for himself, went to his secret-unknown tailor "upstairs." The tailor is Candido. a behind-the -scenes tailor who works in a competitive showroom a few floors above Norell's. And Norell practically always dines at the Schrafft's on 47th St.

and 3rd Ave. because the waiters don't bother him with silly chitchat. "People should be alone more often," he says. "They must unshackle their minds to think constructively and adventuresomely." NORELL'S SIMPLE withdrawal from life's "unnecessary" contacts has left him plenty of time to create memorable fashion. Lauren Bacall, a long-time Norell customer, has 25-year-old dresses from Norell that she still wears.

Last week he went to her dressing room to, be photographed with her and had one of her oldies on. "I'm so ashamed," she said. She needn't be. Norell's alma mater, the Parsons School of Fashion Design, is going to have an exhibition of Norell clothes in 1972. The school has put out a call for old Norells that may be stashed away in attics and closets.

What is borrowed will be displayed. Lauren Bacall isn't apologizing any more. She's got a potential museum piece. She was the first fashionable to offer her old Norell to Norell. MRS.

"Women need even more evening says Norell. "After five, they should forget their liberation." NORELL HAS always been a dreamer and a loner. For the past eight years he has lived in an elegant duplex on E.

Norell, who admits that one day he'll announce retirement and simply finish his illustrious career the same day, plans to create a make-up collection before his professional demise. He owns an extensive art collection and among his most treasured paintings is a Van Dongen portrait of a girl who has rimmed coal dust around her eyes and looks owlish. Norell thinks the black circles on a dead-white face with bright red lips are wonderful The Sunday Press deadline for all Woman's Section news and photographs including wedding and engagement items is 12 noon Tuesday. Travel Take-Alongs Listed By EMILY WILKENS Dear Emily Wilkens: Several months ago you wrote an article about what to take along for a winter vacation. I followed your advice to the letter and found it perfect for a skiing trip I enjoyed with my husband. Now we are planning a two-week trip to England and France in the latter part of the summer. I would really appreciate your suggestions on what to take along. Thanks.

Helen M.S. The first rule is to make a list of personal needs and practical necessities for the climate you'll be experiencing. In this case, it will be typical temperate-zone summer weather. With a complete list, filing the suitcases should be effortless--merely check off each item or category as it gets tucked away. Plan to take along the following as far as a wardrobe and all-i port "personals" are concerned: WORKABLE WARDROBE: 1 robe and 1 wash- wear nightgown; 2 pairs casual shoes (one especially sturdy for walking) plus 1 pair for dress-up; 3 or 4 pairs of hose or pantyhose; 3 daytime costumes (avoid pants in certain cities) based on mixmatch blouses and skirts.

Also 3 dress-up outfits; 1 sweater; 1 lightweight stole; several scarves; 1 raincoat; 1 bathing suit (if you're spending a good bit of time at a resort you'll need two). In addition, add two changes of underwear, 1 daytime purse, 1 evening purse, some staple jewelry. PERSONAL PAMPERERS: Soap in a covered plastic soap dish. shower cap, rubber gloves, toothbrush and paste, mouth wash (concentrate), cotton balls, talcum powder, baby oil, astringent or witch hazel in plastic containers, calomine lotion, nail polish remover pads, emery boards, orangewood sticks, cuticle scissors, combined base and nail hardener and nail polish.
