Grath, 80, of Forked River, formerly of Passaic, died on January 14, 2010. Born and raised in Passaic, Mr. Grath lived there until C-l 1992 when he retired to 1 River NJ.

Before retiring, he had been employed as a Window Clerk with the US Post Of ROYE. BENDER AGE: 52 ASBURY PARK Roy E. Bender, 52, of As-bury Park, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at home. He was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Asbury Park.

He was an auto painter and detailer for Shore Auto Brokers, Asbury Park. Surviving are his mother, Jeanette Bender of Asbury Park; two brothers, Dale Bender of Asbury Park, and David Bender of Red Bank; two sisters, Gale Lee Pucci and husband Richard of Neptune, and Lisa Bender of Asbury Park; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Francioni, Taylor and Lopez Funeral Home, Neptune, is in charge of arrangements. Deerfield, and Peter Perez and his wife Brenda of Irvine, and his two cherished grandsons, Michael and Benjamin Perez.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, with Military Honors at 7:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Cremation Service, 2652 Highway 138, Wall, at the Route 18 north entrance. On Monday, Jan.

81. of Neptune, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at home. She was born in Belleville to William and Mary Zigmund on Sept. 11, 1928.

She attend ed school in Newark and graduated from Eastside High School in 1946. She married Joseph Louis Kiha on Feb. 15, 1947. After her marriage, Connie lived in Belleville. North Arlington and Neptune.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Grand Union in Clifton and North Arlington. Connie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jo- seDh L. Riha: and her broth er, Christopher Zigmund. She is survived bv her de voted daughters, Diane L. Donovan and her compan ion John Sarlo and Judy L.

Riha and her wife Julie L. Jones; her "adopted" daughters, Sharon Marquardt and Sharon Wolowitz; her grandsons, Joseph and his wife Tara, and Matthew and Timothv: and her great- grandson, William Joseph. She also leaves behind her sister, Eileen Mascitello and Lorraine Bodzioch. She will be missed and cherished by her partner of 15 years, Paul Mahr of Nentune. as well as a large family of nieces, nephews and close triends.

Friends and family are in vited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 at the Ely Funeral Home, NeDtune. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, John Rosendahl Sr. She is sur vived by her daughter, Kristen Gerhard; son, John H. Rosendahl son-in- law, Peter C. Gerhard II, Madison Leigh Gerhard, John Anders Rosendahl, and Harry Wyatt Rosendahl; her mother, Vir ginia Munro; her sister, Lynn Goodman; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and her circle of friends whose love for her was only surpassed by her love for them.

"Papa" Pentz, 62, of Keyport, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Bay-shore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Perth Am-boy, he lived in Keyport for many years. He was em ployed by Marin Manage ment at McDonalds in Union Beach for 20 years. Prior to that, he was a furrier at Meisel-Peston, Brooklyn from 1975 to 1989.

Mike was communicant of the Church of St. Ann, Keans- burg and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Bayshore Council 2858. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Pentz, in 1995; his mother, Catherine M.

Pentz, on Jan. 29, 2008; and his daughter, Deborah Pentz, on Feb. 25. 2008. Sur viving are his wife, Martha "Marty" Pentz of Keyport; two daughters, Laurie Pentz and Cathy Pentz of Keyport; a grandson, John Michael Anthony Kiernan; a sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Dennis Brown of Westchester, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 18 at Laurel Funeral Home, 201 Laurel West Keans-burg.

The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Ann, Keans- burg.

Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery, Mid-dletown. PETER PEREZ AGE: 86 SPRING LAKE Peter Perez, 86, of Spring Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010. Born in Westfield, he was raised in Spain. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S.

Navy. Dur ing his service in World War II, Mr. Perez was serving on the U.S.S. Hazelwood in the vicinity of Okinawa when their ship was at tacked by a suicide plane and bomb. Mr.

Perez along with members of the crew battled the fires and enemy while returning to port. Mr. Perez was awarded the America Theatre Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Victory Ribbon with 10 Stars, the Philippine Liberation Rib bon with 2 Stars, and the Good Conduct Medal. Following his discharge from the Navy, Mr. Perez was em ployed with General MotorsHyatt Bearings of Clark as a machine specifi cations operator for many years before retiring 20 years ago.

at Great Adventure, Jackson before retiring. He loved gardening and spending time with his family. Born in Hungary, he came to the U.S. in 195b to New York Citv. lived in Pas saic before moving to Lake- hurst 39 years ago.

Surviving are his wile ot 52 years, Irene Egri; a son, George Andy of Manchester; three daughters, Elizabeth Maria and Julia Helen, both of Lakehurst, and Erika of Hungry; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. BRENDA ARANEO-PASHTTI AGE: 49 JACKSON Brenda Araneo-Paskitti, 49. of Jackson, formerly of Old Bridge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010. Surviving are Brenda fa ther, William of Jackson; brother, Bill of Nyack, N.Y.; and sister, Suzanne of Aberdeen. Also surviving are Brenda's husband, Bob; daughters, Katie and Rachel; and son, Bobby.

She was a bookkeeper with State Farm Insurance Wayne for 24 years before retiring in 1996. Born in Clifton, Mrs. Cipriano lived in Wayne prior to moving to Lake-wood 11 years ago. Mrs, Cipriano was a parishioner of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick, as well as an eucharistic min ister at the church and a member of their Miriam Group.

Surviving are her hus band, Charles; and her brother, Robert Van Hoven of Manchester. Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m, Sunday, Jan. 17 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 High way 88, Brick. Funeral serv ices will begin at 8 a.m.

Mr. Grath was a veteran of the United States Army serving as an MP (Military Police! officer during World War II. He was a 1952 gradu ate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, earning a Bach elor of Science degree.

He was a member of the ELKS Lodge in Lacey Township, NJ. Mr. Grath was prede ceased by his wife, Jean fnee Shraea): a brother, Wil liam Grath; and his two sis ters: Muriel Plocmski and Katherine Sulborski. He is survived by his sons: William T. Grath of Ramsey and Craig E.

Grath of Forked River: his daugh ters: Patricia A. Grath-Centi of Parsippany and Kathleen J. Grath-McNamara of Fairfield; a brother, Richard Grath of Brick Township; eight grandchildren; and his companion of nine years, Francine von Dreusche, of Forked River. Born in Summit, he lived in Livingston from 1966 prior to moving to Brick 16 years ago. He was a self-employed general contractor owner of The Remodeling Company. Nicholas served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, where he was a POW. He was awarded numerous medals, including the Purple Heart and the Prisoner of War medal.

Most recently in November, he was award ed a second Distinguished Service Medal from the State of N.J. and The POW-MIA Medal. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8867, Brick. He is survived by a wife, Renee Ann (Walko) Hoolko; a son, Nicholas daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and John Maloney and Cheryl and Daniel Gorab; grandchildren, Skylar, Sierra and Daniel Gorab; and a sister, Ola Downey.

He is also survived by his companion, Dorothy Jackson. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, Jan.

13, 2010, at Cen-traState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Lincoln, Shannon was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Autumn M. Ryan and grew up in Massachusetts. She was schooled in Washington, D.C.

and China, earning a bachelor's degree in geology, before marrying the love of her life and mov ing eventually to Colts Neck. Predeceased by her husband, William A. Torphy, in 2006, she had recently relocated to Ocean Township. Shannon was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoyed the ocean and collecting cooking rec ipes. At times a cartogra pher, camper and explorer, she lived a full and interest ing life.

Surviving Shannon are her three sons, William Timothy and Cormac Torphy; her daughter, Sheelagh Zaklukiewicz; and her grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Maureen, Shannon, Kelsey and Caragh, as well as several nieces, nephews throughout the country. She is also survived by her home companion and friend, Adjoe Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is taking care of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate Shannon's life will be held at a future date to be announced. Shannon very much loved animals and appreciated those that cared for them.

She was born in Langhorn, Pa. and has lived in Neptune for many years. Helen worked as a seam stress but devoted most of her life to caring for her family. She was predeceased by her mother, Clara C. Smith.

Helen is survived by her loving and devoted daugh ter, Clara Chapman of Nep tune; her grandchildren, Tom Chapman and his wife Eileen of Asbury Park, Di ane Field and her husband Dennis of Tinton Falls, and Dawn Dilloian and her hus band Doug of Tinton Falls; five great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Harrison, 79, of West Long Branch, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Harrison was born in Ocean Grove and lived in Elberon before moving to West Long Branch in 1950. She was a member of the Oakhurst United Methodist Church, Oakhurst.

Mrs. Harrison was the past president of the Junior Womens Club of Long Branch. Mrs. Harrison was a cashier for N.J. Bell Telephone before retiring in 1987.

She and her husband Paul enjoyed the many cruises that they took together. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her as a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Surviving are her husband, A. Paul Harrison; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Maureen Harrison of Oceanport; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy and Trevor Gaskell of West Long Branch, Terry Harrison of Freehold, and Holly and Christopher Geiling of West Long Branch; her grandchildren, Heather Gaskell, Marianne Fiore, Brittany and Chelsea Fodero, Kelly and Shannon Harrison; a sister, Joan Davidson, Kapolei, HI; and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Dr.
