If your vet didn't check your dog for diabetes and adrenal dysfunction, then yon should go to another vet for a second opinion. Could yon nave misunderstood your vet? Did be say your dog has Cashing disease? (Which has nothing to do with cushions!) This reminds me of the lady who almost rained her doctor's reputation when she told everyone that be had diagnosed her as having fireballs of the veins.

What be had said was fibroids of the uteras. So please double-check with your vet; if be still your dog is a cushion-dog ask him to give me a call! Q. In my classroom we have two gerbils, male and female. The female has had at least seven litters since September. One out of all seven litters survived; the rest she ate! We gave them enough food and water.

What's happening here? B. F. A. Gerbils and hamsters are prone to cannibalizing their offspring if they are disturbed or don't feel secure. The best thing to do is to make sure your mother gerbil has nesting material (paper and straw) to build a nest and that she is not disturbed until the babies come out of the nest by themselves.

She should have plenty of water and fresh food available when she is producing milk. A few fresh earthworms would probably be appreciated, too. Q. Is there any way to tell if a cat is pregnant without taking her to a vet? P. D.

A. Yes, wait and see. A boat halfway tkrongk the aine-week-gestatioa yon will be able to detect a very clear enlargement of your cat's abdomen. Soon after that, yon will be able to feel the walnut-sized beads of the kittens when you press gently on your cat's sides. You also will see the kittens moving inside when yoour eat is lying still.

And her mammary glands will begin to enlarge. These are certainly sufficient indications! Q. I have a 7-year-old part poodle and part whatever. Recently he developed an enormous appetite and thirst. We also notice he is developing a big stomach.

Our vet said he could be a cushion dog which means that he has too many glands and that we could either put him to sleep or take him to a laboratory in Pennsylvania where they take tests for this type of sickness.
