Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Alan G. and Alice Speck, Lincroft, Middle-town; her daughter, Olive Kooser, with whom she lived in Hillsborough; three grandchildren and a great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, Jan. 24, at Old First Church, 820 Broad Newark.

Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 Route 206, Belle Mead, is in charge of arrangements. dale Grange 157, the Howell Democratic Club, and was a team sponsor with the North Howell Little League. He was a member and director emeritus of the Howell Chamber of Commerce, and a former board member of the YMCA, Freehold. Born in New York, he lived in Howell since 1926. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ethel Hampton Cordts; and a host of friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday at the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, Howell Road, Howell, with the Rev. Galene Boyett officiating. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, 958 Adelphia Road, (Route 524) Adelphia. HOWELL Former Mayor Edmund Cordts died Sunday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was 90.

He was the municipal clerk from 1941 to 1944, served on the Howell Committee from 1945 to 1948, and from 1977 to 1984, and was mayor from 1983 to 1984. He also served on the Mon-mouth County Shade Tree and the Mon mouth County Solid Waste Management Committee. He owned and operated Cordts Florist from 1949 until retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, a member and a past president of the board of directors of the Howell Historical Society, a member of the Farming- the national Rite of Life Association. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Wayne for many years before moving to Berkeley a year ago.

Her daughter, Letitia, died in 1966. Surviving are her husband, Victor; two sons, Thomas To-towa, and Matthew West Orange; her mother, Anna Disteso, Berkeley; and a brother, Salvatore Disteso, Toms River. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River.

A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.

AUDREY WESTERVELT NIC0LL, 89, of Pitman, formerly of MANCHESTER, died Sunday at Pitman Manor. She was a cafeteria worker for RCA, East Windsor, for 15 years, retiring in 1974. Before that, she was a Comptometer operator for General Chemical New York, and also worked in the accounts payable department for U.S. Rubber Passaic.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Trenton, the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Company 2 Ladies Auxiliary, the Presbyterian Church, Hightstown, and the Reform Church of America, Wyckoff. Born in Passaic, she lived there and in Wyckoff, Hightstown and Manchester before moving to Pitman. Surviving are her husband, John a son, Richard, Monroe Township; a daughter, Roberta Walker, Newport Beach, a sister, Mar-jorieBeggs, Manchester; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

PL0NSKI, so, of LAKEWOOD, died Saturday at Brick Hospital. He was the owner of Plonski Agency, Jersey City. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a first sergeant. He was instrumental in the fund raising for nd erection of the Katyn Forest Massacre Memorial in Jersey City. He was a commander of the General Kasimir Pulaski Polish Veterans Post 9, a member of the New Jersey Board of Realtors, the Jersey City Real Estate Board, the Polish Legion of American Veterans, the Kos-ciuszko Foundation, the Heritage Foundation, the National Confederation of American Groups, the Council for Polish American Affairs, the Federations of Polish Americans in Washington, D.C, the Polish Historical and Cultural Center, Washington, D.C, and also served in the Peace Corps in South America.

Born in Jersey City, he lived there most of his life before moving to Lakewood recently. Surviving is his wife, Mildred Warren Plonski. Evergreen Funeral Home, Jersey City, is in charge of arrangements. ROSE TAFER0 P0LIT0, 85. of JACKSON, died yesterday at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson.

She was a licensed home health aide for private families. She was a member of Intercessory Tabernacle Ministries Church, Lake- wood, where she was a Sun-day School teacher and a minister in the church. She received her license to preach the gospel on June 25, 1997. Born in Pitts County, Beaver Dam, N.C, she lived in North Carolina before moving to Lakewood 12 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold in November.

Surviving are her son, Harold New Bern, N.C; her daughter, Vivian Williams, Vista, her brother, Dueray, Lakewood; three sisters, Services Additional Information GRAMEGNA Mary (nee Verrilli) on Saturday, January 9. 1999 of Bloom-field N.J. FRANK W. MARTINI, 92, of LAKEWOOD, died Sunday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was a foreman at American Water Works, Lakewood, for 30 years, retiring' in 1972. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church, Lakewood.

Born in Pine-wald, he lived in Lakewood for the past 77 years. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Puglisi Martini; two daughters, Marlene Mikkelson, Barnegat, and Margaret Bale, Toms River; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the D'Elia Funeral Home, Highway 70 and Vermont Avenue, Lakewood.

MARGARET MAULSHAGEN, 94, of Cedar Glen West, MANCHESTER, died yesterday at Whiting Health Care Center. She was a homemaker. She a former member of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church, Bayville, Berkeley, and a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst, and its Altar Rosary Society.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, she came to the United States in 1911, living in Elizabeth and Ocean Gate before moving to Manchester in 1981. Her husband, Adolph, died in 1979. Surviving are a son, Adolph, Manchester; two daughters, Margaret Toth, Fairfield, and Helen Manhardt, Manchester; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Thursday at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Lakehurst.

A Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Church, Lakehurst. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia.

PAULA M0NGELLI, 63, of Holiday Heights, BERKELEY, died yesterday at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, Pemberton. She was an administrative assistant at the Institute of Food Technologists, Wayne, for nine years, retiring in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church, Wayne, where she was a member of the Noctutnal Adoration Society, served as a eucharistic minister, taught CCD classes and was a music teacher.

She also was a member of vi1 ASBURY PARK Lillian Brixner Speck, a former city resident, who moved to Hillsborough in 1989, died Saturday at Grove Health Care Center, Neptune. She was 103. She worked in the quality control department of Wallace-Tier-nan Pharmaceutical in Belleville for 28 years, retiring in 1964. She was a lifelong member of the Old First Church in Newark. Born in Newark, she lived there most of her life before moving to Asbury Park where she lived for 12 years before moving Novella Miles-Strand, Mildred Strand and Hilda Johnson, all of Lakewood; five grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday from the Intercessory Tabernacle Ministries Church, 500 Arlington Lakewood. Friends may call at the church, 5 p.m. Wednesday to service time. Further services and interment will be held in North Carolina.

Arrangements are by Watson Mortuary Services, Jersey City. MILDRED E. DALEY, of South ampton, whose daughter lives in TOMS RIVER, died yesterday Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. She was an avid knitter, reader and sewer. Born in Twin Mountain, N.H., she lived in the Pemberton and Southampton area since 1967.

She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Surviving are three sons, William F. Lebanon, Peter Pemberton, and David Miami; a daughter, Helen M. Biester, Toms River; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Lanke-nau Funeral Home, 31 Elizabeth Pemberton. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton. Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.

19 at the funeral home. GILBERT M. HAGGERTY, 79, of Forked River, LACEY, died Sunday at home, after a long illness. He was employed by The New York Times for 46 years, his last position was administrative assistant to the metropolitan editor. During his years there, he served under six metropolitan editors and was the recipient of three publisher's awards for outstanding news tips that resulted in front page stories.

During World War II, he served in the 603rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, the Sixth Armored Division under the command of Gen. George S. Pat-ton, from "D-Day Plus Six" until the end of the war in Germany in 1945. He received five Battle Stars as a sergeant. He was a member of the Society of the Silurian, an organization of editors and reporters; the Veterans of Foreign Wars A.

Jay Weeks Post 5053, Toms River, and the Lacey Republican Club. He was a communicant of St. Pius Roman Catholic Church, Forked River. Born in Manhattan, he lived in the Bronx, on Staten Island, and in the Bayville section of Berkeley and in Toms River before moving to Forked River in 1990. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Adrienne R.

Haggerty; two sons, Gilbert Forked River, and Joseph Middletown; two daughters, Judith Anne Glieden, Lanoka Harbor, Lacey, and Mary Rose Cummings, Staten Island; eight grandchildren, Thomas J. Glieden, Alisia D. Lane, Danielle M. and Nicole M. Cummings, Michael Cori M.

and Jenna M. Haggerty, and Jonathon A. Weddell; and two great-grandchildren, Scott M. Glieden and Devon R. Trangone.

She was a passionate animal lover and supporter of the Humane Societies. She was a 1974 graduate of Toms River High School North. Born in Hackensack, she lived in Toms River before moving to Michigan. Surviving are her mother, Bee Johnson, Toms River; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Johnson, a niece and nephew, Adam and Claire Johnson, all of Petoskey, Mich. A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday at the Unitarian Uni-versalist Congregation of Ocean County, Murray Grove, Lanoka Harbor, Lacey.

BERTHA HUNKIN, 89, nf beach- WOOD, died Sunday at Kensington Manor Nursing Home, Toms River. She was a clerk for Food Fair, Staten Island, for 12 years, retiring in 1966. She was a member of the Beachwood Seniors.

Born in New York, she lived on Staten Island and in Toms River before moving to Beachwood in 1988. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert. Surviving are two sons, Richard, Del Rio, Texas, and James, Houston; a daughter, Mary Weeman, Beachwood; a brother, James Valentine, Whiting, Manchester; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. HUTCHINS, 87, of POINT PLEASANT, died Sunday at Brick Hospital. He was a machinist at Staley Elevator New York, for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach, and the National Rifle Association. Born in Hartford, he lived in Jersey City before moving to Point Pleasant in 1969.

His first wife, Elizabeth, died in 1983. Surviving are his second wife, Virginia; a son, E. George, Bergen-field; a stepson, Daniel Stetland, California; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Maccaro, Westwood, Mary Jane Whritenour, Point Pleasant; a stepdaughter, Kathy Franco, Brick; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. 0LIVI0 M. IZZ0, 75, of BEACHWOOD, died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 560, Jersey City, for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Before that, he worked for Teamsters locals 807 and 707 in New York.

He was a World War II Army veteran, receiving four Bronze Stars. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Houston, Texas. Born in Manhattan, he lived in Brooklyn, Woodbridge and Toms River before moving to Beachwood three years ago. Surviving are his wife, Wilberta Peterson Izzo; a son, Pasquale Beachwood; a daughter, Lisa Cam-ile, Murray three brothers, Tony, Queens, Fred, Valley Stream, Long Island, and Raymond, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in New Jersey Veterans Cemetery. JOHN J. KUBIK, 6i, of toms RIVER, died Sunday at Barbara Cheung Memorial Hospice, Edison. His father, John, died in 1994.

Surviving are his mother, Lillian Ha-bart Kubik, Toms River. NICHOLAS L0TIT0, 70, of lake-wood, died Sunday at 'Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was a computer analyst for both the Boy Scouts of America and Computer Sciences Trenton. He was a bus driver for Murphy Bus Co. for the past five years.

He was a Marine Corps veteran. Born in New York, he lived in Lyndhurst before moving to the Shore area 32 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Jane Lo-tito; a son, Michael, Brick; a daughter, Wendy Conrad, Lakewood; his mother, Antoinette Lotito, Lyndhurst; three sisters, Madeline Hartz, and Annette Lotito, both Lyndhurst, and Marie Olsen, Ridgewood; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

STANLEY RYK0WSKI, 74, a life long resident of Newark, whose brother lives in MANCHESTER, died Sunday at home. He was a sprinkler fitter with Union Local 696, Millburn, for 35 years, retiring in 1990. A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 712 and the Disabled American Veterans, both Newark. Surviving are a brother, Paul, Manchester; and a sister, Dorothy Zanzonico, Chatham.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Lakehurst. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Cemetery Chapel at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Ar-, neytown.

JOSEPH VISAGGI0, 78, of the Hoi iday City South, BERKELEY, died Saturday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a leather worker with Neumann's Leather Hoboken, for 25 years, retiring in 1986. He was also a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Toms River. Born in Italy, he settled in Hoboken and moved to Berkeley in 1987.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Svorinich Visaggio; two daughters, Anna Marie Cieri, Budd Lake, and Linda Marcickiewicz, Middletown; his sister, Antoinette Ciocia, Italy; and fdur grandchildren, Carta and Michael Cieri, and Kristen and Robert Marcickiewicz. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m.

Born in the Bradevelt section of Marlboro, she lived in Morganville for the past 43 years. Surviving are five daughters, Irene Davis, Toms River, Louise Pe-karchik and Helen Nikitin, both of Morganville, Bernico Cobb, Fort Lauderdale, and Elaine Cobb, Jackson; two Richie Davis, Toms River, and Walter Pis-kin, Jackson; six grandchildren, Tina, Melissa, Richie Allen, Cyndi, Alex and Philip; and three greatgrandchildren, Marissa, Brittany and Brandon.
