His wife, Mary C. Ventrella, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, John Jackson; a daughter, Mary Lou Brinkofski, Flanders; a sister, Louise Migliore, Jackson; a stepbrother, Philip Lamberti, Sarasota, a stepsister, Mary Sharp, Jackson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Toms River. RICHARD J. CHRISTIAN, 68, of TOMS RIVER, died May 19 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

After a lifetime of working in the oil and lubricating industries, he retired in 1994 and was involved in many activities in the Green-briar Woodlands retirement development. He was a graduate of Du-quesne High School and the University of Pittsburgh. He was born in Braddock, Pa. His first wife, Barbara Bush Christian, died in 1970. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Christian, and his father-in-law, Hans Humbert.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Elaine Humbert Christian; three daughters, Cynthia Lestyk, Pamela Hughes and Valerie Huminski; his mother-in-law, Muriel Humbert; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; five grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. FREDERICK W. HART 71, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Forked River, LACEY, died May 11 at the Arbors at Port Charlotte Nursing Home. He was a retired environmentalist at Mid East Aluminum, Dayton. He was past exalted ruler of the Toms River Elks Lodge 1875, and a member of the American Legion, Port Charlotte. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a 1947 graduate of Rahway High School. Born in Westfield, he lived in Rahway and in Forked River before moving to Florida in 1990. He was predeceased by a brother, Gordon. Surviving are his wife, Audrey; two sons, Frederick W. Hart Toms River, and Richard T.

Hart, Conyers, a brother, Martin L. Hart Port Charlotte; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, in Rose-dale Cemetery Chapel, Linden. Donations may be made to the Hospice of S.W.

HARMER WILLIAM K0HLER, 83, of JACKSON, died Wednesday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He owned and operated a family poultry and vegetable farm, Jackson, for his entire life. Born in Lakewood, he lived in Jackson all of his life.

Surviving are a nephew, Robert Tracy, Cranbury; a cousin, Harold Matthews, Sebastian, and several other cousins. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, Brick, and the Professional Women's Club, Irvington. Born in Wil-kes-Barre, she lived in Irvington before moving to Brick two years ago. Her father, Stanley Wykosky, died in 1971, her mother, Josephine charge of arrangements. ELIZABETH SECHRIST BALDWIN MILTON, 88, of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, died Wednesday in Louisville, after a long illness. She was a member of the Spring Lake Bath Tennis Club, the Spring Lake Golf Club, and the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity, Spring Lake.

She was born in Lansdowne, Pa. Surviving are a son, William O. Baldwin III, Louisville; two stepsons, Charles Bridgeton, and Russell St. Augustine, four stepdaughters, Mary C. Milton, New York, Joan C.

Thorsen, Hawley, Patricia C. Christiansen, St. Augustine, and Suzzanne C. Ponusuk, Summit; and a sister, Virginia S. Rolfe, Beach Haven.

The funeral was held in Louisville, with burial at the Congressional Cemetery, Washington, D.C. He was a salesman with Toledo Scale Corp. for 25 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the American Legion, Wall, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Brick, the Manasquan Elks, and an Army veteran of World War II. Born in Wood-Ridge, he lived in Hackensack before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1969. Surviving are his wife, Joan Smollon Purcaro; a brother, Edward, Maywood; a sister, Susan Howe, Wood-Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Middle-town most of her life before moving to Cape May Courthouse in January.

Surviving are two sons, William Butler, Cliffwood Beach, Aberdeen, and Robert Dean Wilson, Cape May Courthouse; four daughters, Maryann Bennett, Belford, Middle-town, Patricia McDaniel and Kathleen Smith, both of Effort, and Deborah O'Kon, Barnegat; two sisters, Olga Foster, Atlantic Highlands, and Ann Lizeski, Virginia; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. ST0NACK, si.ofTOMS RIVER, died Wednesday at Kensington Care Center, Toms River. He was a milkman with Sunrise-Durl-ing Farms, Hillside, for 30 years prior to owning and operating the Pleasant Court Motel, Point Pleasant Beach, for 10 years. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the U.S.T.A., AAU-Track and was a semi-pro basketball player. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge, both Point Pleasant, and the N.J.

Standardbreed Breeders and Owners Association. Born in Newark, he lived in Union, Cran-ford and Point Pleasant Beach before moving to Toms River several years ago. Surviving are his wife, Helen Pryll Stonack; a son, John Wall; a daughter, Donna S. Jani, Howell; a brother, Edward, Union; seven grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. En Union workers are seeking a 6 percent raise, while the company is offering raises of 4 percent the first year and 3 percent for each subsequent year with bonuses and a possibility of merit raises. The vote set the stage for workers to start picketing at 12:01 a.m. Monday when the contract expires, but company officials yesterday were attempting to extend the deadline to June 22. Delta Dental insures the Parsip-pany school district and municipal employees and the Morris offices of Nabisco, Summit Bancorp, Hoff-mann-LaRoche and GPU Energy. Its 3,100 commercial customers nationwide include General Reinsurance, camera maker Minolta and Burlington Coat Factory.

A strike would force Delta Dental to shut down communications, human resources and other non-essential departments, company spokeswoman Diane Belle said. More than half of the company's 300 employees are unionized. GERTRUDE FREAS, 75, of Pom- pano Beach, formerly of NEPTUNE CITY, died Tuesday in Mar-tinsburg, W.Va. Born in Bayonne, she lived in Neptune City before partments would handle claims, temporary workers would be hired and some work would be shifted to companies that normally handle excess claims, she said. Affected workers include secretaries, mailroom workers, billing and accounting employees and people who answer phones when patients call with questions. Union representative Carl Noble said the workers want raises promised during fiscal belt-tightening measures three years ago. Delta's income from insurance premiums moved from $150 million in 1993 to $185 million in 1996, jumping to $248.8 million in 1998 for an overall increase of 65.9 percent.

Belle said the existing offer is reasonable, given today's low inflation. The offer has not changed since the union rejected it, but extending the strike deadline will let workers warm to the deal, she said. "They didn't fully comprehend the package that was being offered to them," Belle said. Union workers at Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey on Route 10, the state's largest dental insurer, voted overwhelmingly this week to go on strike, possibly as early as Monday. One dental office manager said claims still will be sent via e-mail should workers go on strike. "It just may be that they money's not going to come back (to patients) as quick," said Penny Morton, who works for Dr. Dario Fenimore in Morris Plains.
