In West Germany the only man who gave elderly Konrad Adenauer any competition in a feminine poll was movie star Curt Jurgens, who is no youngster. Frenchwomen voting for their favorite romantic figure picked Jean Gabin first and Maurice Chevalier second. Both have been around for a few generations.

In Itly, Vittorio de Sica and Toto ran neck-and-neck in a nationwide popularity contest with all the younger crop of glamor boys far behind. Belgian ladies decided that the most fascinating visitors of the year were Porfirio Rubirosa, the fading playboy turned diplomat, and Captain Peter Townsend, who picked a Belgian girl for his second bride. In England, the ages of the most charming men ran from Sir Winston Churchill at one extreme to Bonnie Prince Charles at the other. Mrs. William A.

Teen-age daughters of poor mountain villagers have been wearing whatever hand-me-down stockings came their way, Usually hose was not matched, with the result that one leg might be black and the other red or yellow. Chic visitors to Bardonecchia were charmed by the odd effect, adopted the custom and took it home with them. Not many of them come to Bar.

donecchia with several pairs of bright colored hose and mismated them to be a la moda. Other visitors enlist the services of townswomen who produce unmatched hand-knot hose by working late into the night. Although the hose do not show under skit pants, they do with after-ski skirts and get a lot of attention at home when worn to the office, to school and on dates. Feminine students in Florence prefer one red and one bright blue stocking with gray flannel skirts. In Paris it is no longer shocking to see girls dressed for dates in one yellow stocking and the other black.

Or you can make traffic stop and go with mismatched red and green hose simply by putting your best foot forward. WAITRESSES, BEAUTICIANS, NURSES UNIFORMS White and Colors.
