Richard J. Pezzano, 83, died on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at his home in Berkeley NJ. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ then lived in Hazlet, Keansburg, and Colonia, NJ before moving to Bayville, NJ 8 years ago. He worked as a baker and plant manager for in Newark, NJ. Richard proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 as a Tin Can Sailor in the Korean War working as a cook.

He is the current President of both the Blind Veterans of NJ (BVA) and the USS Hailey Association. He was the past president of both the American Legion and VFW of Keansburg, NJ and a member of AM Caesarea of Keyport, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Mary Pezzano; his wife Ann Pezzano and his son Richard R. Pezzano. Surviving is his wife Barbara Wiemer Pezzano; his three sons Joseph Pezzano and his wife Kelly of Middletown, NJ, Eric Wiemer and his companion Geralyn Zamorski of Metuchen, NJ and David Wiemer and his wife Nelly of Plainsboro, NJ; his two daughters Gloria Bollinger and her husband Stacey of Silvis, IL and Valerie Muscolino and her husband James of Brick, NJ; one sister Maryann Gabelmann of Union, NJ; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday October3, 2014 from 2-6pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. Committal will be private.

In lieu of ow- ers donations may be made to www.nationalmssociety. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryan funeralhome.com RICHARD J. PEZZANO AGE: 83 BAYVILLE Rebecca (Becky) Porter passed away comfortably, during the early evening hours of Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014. She lived to be 83.

She was born in Lenola, NJ on December 20, 1930 to parents, John Evans Haines, Jr. and Rose Teresa Lynch as their only child. Becky graduated from Moorestown High School and then worked various secretarial jobs until she met her husband. She married David William Porter of Maple Shade, NJ. They lived in Moorestown, NJ and in 1962 moved to a little town at the Jersey shore called Waretown.

From 1965 to the together, they ran a very successful, custom home building business in Waretown and Forked River, NJ. Becky was a stay- at-home mom by choice and raised three fabulous children. Following the passing of her husband in the late Becky moved to Stuart, Florida. She is predeceased by her husband and will now join him to continue their gardenin chores from up above. She is survived by her three children, Linda Fox (Sam), David Porter (Jan), and Joanne Porter, as well as her three, cherished grandchildren, Nicole Fox, Ashley Porter, and Kellie Fox.

ROSE REBECCA PORTER AGE: 83 FORMERLY OF FORKED RIVER Charles Frank Smith, 75, of Howell, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at home.

He was born and raised in Ellwood City, PA before moving to New Jersey in 1958. Mr. Smith was an Electronic Engineer for the Government in Fort Monmouth NJ for 30 years before retiring. He proudly served for the US Army during his younger years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Theresa Kathleen Pavlichek Smith; two daughters, Cindy Smith of Howell and Wendy Ruoff and her husband Eric of Jackson; a sister, Marie Schuster and her husband Fritz of Ellwood City, PA.

He also leaves his cherished grandson, William Charles Burkhardt. He enjoyed golf, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and Pirates. He was a wonderful (the best) father and grandfather ever. He will be missed more than words could ever begin to describe. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m.

7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, 2652 Hwy. 138, Wall. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m.

Friday, Oct. 3 at the funeral home. Burial to follow at the Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. CHARLES FRANK SMITH AGE: 75 HOWELL Cecilia Schmitt, 70, of Asbury Park, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

Born in Puerto Rico, Cecilia came to the United States in 1958. She settled in Keyport where she met and married her husband Peter. Later, she moved to New Haven, CT where she resided for many years and raised her children. Cecelia then moved back to NJ, and in 1988 began a career with the Asbury Park Press, where she worked for many years. Cecilia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Whether it was a smile or her love for dancing, Cecelia could bring joy to any occasion. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. Cecilia was predeceased by her husband, Peter Schmitt and her daughter, Kim Schmitt. She is survived by her children, Diane Schmitt of Puerto Rico, George Schmitt of New Haven, CT, Marie Schmitt of Lon Branch, Douglas Ribot of Long Branch, and Lisa Ribot of Asbury Park; her brother, Jorge Cubero of Arlington; her sister, Ana L. Cubero of Puerto Rico as well as 23 grandchildren and 22 great- grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Asbury Park. Cremation will be private. Online condolences may be expressed in honor of Cecelia at www.Buckleyfuneral home.net.

CECILIA SCHMITT AGE: 70 ASBURY PARK Victor John Tomkiel, 90, of Lake Como, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at his home. Victor was born and raised in Jersey City and moved to Lake Como in 1958. He was a World War II Army veteran stationed in Hawaii as an aerial engineer. He received his BS from the University of Wyoming and his Masters in Biology from Rutgers University.

Victor taught in St. High School, Toms River for 1 year then he taught for 17 years at Ferris High School, Jersey City and he retired from Neptune Board of Education where he taught Biology at Neptune Junior High for 10 years. Victor also worked for the State of New Jersey as a biologist. He was featured in New Jersey Outdoors Magazine in 1952 which was the 1st Anniversary Edition. Victor loved oil painting and woodcarving.

His passion for the ocean and beach life was often found in his craft- work. Victor was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Rose Tomkiel in April 2014; his parents, Anthony and Victoria Tomkiel; and two sisters, Helen Krynicki and Josephine Gaydos. He is survived by a daughter, Victoria Palmer of Neptune; a son and his wife, Victor and Cynthia Tomkiel of Brielle; three grandchildren, Harry Palmer III of Brick and Nicole and Jack Tomkiel, both of Brielle. Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals. There will be a memorial service for both Victor and Rose Tomkiel at 11:30 a.m.

VICTOR JOHN TOMKIEL AGE: 90 LAKE COMO Margaret Elizabeth Warnock died peacefully at her home while under hospice care on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Born November 9, 1935 she was the last of six children and sole daughter in the Irish immigrant family of Robert and Margaret (nee Gillen) Warnock then residing in Brooklyn. Her mother died suddenly following surgery in 1942.

Peggy was six years old. She went on to be a graduate of St. Theresa elementary school and Prospect Heights high school. Despite a life threatening auto immune she continued working full time while caring to her invalid father for 28 years until his death in 1970. Each of her brothers (William, Robert, David, Michael and Thomas) predeceased her.

Peggy was an exemplar of courage, dedication and love to all who knew her. She was a devoted friend of Dolores Bergener for over 60 years and a loving Aunt to her twelve nephews and nieces plus their multiple offspring as well as her ve MacCormack cousins and many dog walking friends in Holiday City. RIP Peggy. done it well! Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Thursday October 2, 2014 from 4-8pm at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St.

Catherine Toms River, NJ. A memorial Mass will be offered on Friday October 3, 2014, at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, NJ. Committal will follow to St. Cemetery, Queens, NY.

Condolences may be sent by visiting www. ryanfuneralhome.com MARGARET ELIZABETH WARNOCK AGE: 78 TOMS RIVER Leon Horowitz, 96, of Manchester, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Aris- taCare in Manchester. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he graduated from Cooper Union University in Brooklyn and earned his Degree from Institute of Technology. He served in the U.S.

Army Air Corps during World War II in both North Africa and India. Leon was a Licensed Professional Engineer who was known for his excellent work ethic and love of knowledge. He is survived by Elaine, his loving wife of 57 years; his beloved son, Joel of San Francisco; his beloved daughter, Karen Church of Lopatcong Township; his adored granddaughter, Stacey Sutton and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Peyton Sutton, all of Lopatcong. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct.

2 at Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery. LEON HOROWITZ AGE: 96 MANCHESTER Irene (nee Reonieri) Valentini, 97, of Lakewood, formerly of Clifton, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.

Born in New York City, Mrs. Valentini lived in Clifton for 60 years before moving to Lakewood 14 years ago. Before her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper with Shulton, Inc. of Clifton for 30 years. Mrs.

Valentini was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and a member of the Clifton Seniors. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John in 2000; her brother, Dino Reonieri and her sister, Rose Marchini. Survivors include her cousins, Violet Barbieri, Gina Cattani and Charles Spagnoli.

Visiting will be from 3 to 8 pm. Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Clifton. Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. Friday, Oct.
