APP.COM ASBURY PARK PRESS 7A James Robert Ford of Wall Twp. NJ went home to the Lord on Friday May 29th, at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was in his 80th year, he was born at home in Neptune City, NJ, September 16, 1935. Jim attended St. Rose Grammar School and St.

Rose High chool where he graduated in 1953. After High School he was active in the New Jersey National Guard Quarter Master Battalion. In 1956 he married the love of his life, Diane Jacobson of Sea Girt. Jim was a 50 year member of Local Union 400 IBEW working for The Proctor Company of Belmar and then Ford Electric of Wall Township. He served many years on the Joint Apprentice Committee of Local 400.

Jim was an avid supporter of Scouting, active for 57 years including Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 69, Spring Lake Heights and Den Leader of Webelos Pac 104. In retirement he spent much of his time at Quail Hill Scout reservation, building and renovating many of the structures with his brother-in-law and fellow Scouter, Ron Jacobson. When his children were in High School, Jim was active in the Wall High Booster Club, where he served as President from 1976-1980. Jim was an active parish- i oner at St. Rose Parish in Belmar, including serving as a volunteer with the RCIA program.

Jim enjoyed shing, boating, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. James was predeceased by his parents, William Stanley Ford and Inez Mary Ford, his sister, Margaret Ann Bragg and his sister-in-law Sandra Rogers. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Diane Jacobson Ford, his ve children and their spouses, Jeffrey and his wife Bambi Roller and their son Brenin; Christopher and his daughters Victoria, Eliza and Sylvia; Timothy and his wife Deborah and their son Daniel; Suzanne and her husband Thomas Neral and their children Andrew, Jennifer and Peter; and Michele and her companion Bob Camp; his brother William S. Ford Jr. and his wife Jackie; his brother-in- law Ron Jacobson and his wife Marilyn and 12 nieces and nephews.

Jim inspired countless people over the years, living his faith on a daily basis through his words and his actions. goal in later life was to not be known as the in that he succeeded. He was adored by all of his grandchildren and all of his many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Reilly Bonner Funeral Home, 801 Street, Belmar NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 3 at at the Church of St Rose 603 7th Ave.

JAMES ROBERT FORD AGE: 80 WALL TWP. Henry W. (Billy) Gillespie 49, a lifelong resident and dedicated volunteer of the Borough of Lake Como, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River. Mr. Gillespie was an Electrician for the County of Monmouth in the Traf- Safety Department for 15 years.

He also attended the Monmouth County Police Academy during that time to become a Special Law Enforcement cer, Class II and worked for the South Como Police Department for 13 years. Billy as he was more commonly known, was a member of the South Belmar Fire Department from 1984 to present, was a Life Member and served in various capacities including Fire Chief for 5 years. He was a member of the South Belmar First Aid Squad and Life Member for 34 years and held many of- during that time. He was an avid bowler and was a regular at the Lanes of Sea Girt including bowling with the Friday Night League. Mr.

Gillespie was predeceased by his parents, Henry W. Sr. and Doris R. Gillespie. He is survived by his lovin siblings, his brother Fred R.

Tilton Jr. of Brick, sisters Jane L. Marban (Raul) of Little Ferry, Doris R. Heaton of Lake Como and Helen M. Whille (Paul) of Lake Como along with his nieces and nephews many of whom were also his best friends, their children and several Aunts and Uncles.

He is also survived by his loving God Children, Megan Burger of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Heaton of Howell. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 2-4 7-9pm at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Farmingdale, NJ. AJ had a zest for life and never missed an opportunity to live it fully. He loved nature in every form. Often walking in the woods looking for creatures, walking on the beach looking for creatures, wading in ponds with his mom looking for creatures, lifting every rock and decaying log, looking for creatures wonder in everything. He had a great love for animals and surrounded himself with many pets. AJ always had a corny oke to tell, often one a rst grader would tell.

He was a great storyteller and would make the most every day event change into an exciting and colorful tale. Often we would get a call from him with an idea of how we were going to get rich. They were mostly crazy ideas that you would say had no value, but he was so passionate about them and explained them with such excitement that somehow they would start to make sense and before he hung up you were convinced he was right. He never called anyone by his or her real name; everyone had a nickname that meant somethin and endearing to him. He was ever a child.

AJ graduated from Ocean Township High School. He attended St. University and Monmouth University. After that, he went into the car business excelling in multiple departments. He wanted to be just like his dad a dream he often shared with many.

AJ will be forever missed and carried in our hearts. Fly light and free AJ was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Joseph Lamb and his maternal grandmother Frances Hagerman. He is survived by his devoted parents and Barry and Karen Lamb, his beloved brother and sister, Chris and Kaitie the Golden Lamb. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents Fred and Mary and Burst, his uncle and aunt Steve and Gina Hagerman and his cousins Nikole Sariotis, Gabby and Scuba Hagerman and his treasured pets Zeus and Pepper and his dogs Cali, Bug, Blue and Daffy. Additionally, he leaves behind many friends that he left indelible memories on.

ALEXANDER LAMB AGE: 28 WAYSIDE Reverend Don D. Miller, age 84, of Brick, NJ, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Saturday, May 30, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in St. Louis, MO, and raised by Godly parents John and Hattie (Earl) Miller, he was the youngest and last survivor of nine children. At the age of 16 with his blessing he began his ministerial training at North Central Bible College, Minneapolis, MN.

During his senior year, he pioneered his rst church in Buffalo Lake, MN. Graduating in 1950 his only life-changing accomplishment. He met his wife-to-be, Betty Passmore, a student at North Central, in 1956. They were married December 1958. Together, Don and Betty served the Lord in ministry for 57 years.

This ministry included evangelist meetings in several Midwest states intermittently in his early ministry years. He was ordained with the Assemblies of God fellowship in 1957 and pastored churches in Minnesota until 1972 when he and his family moved to New Jersey. His last pastorate was at First Assembly of God Church, Point Pleasant, for 18 years before retiring in 1992. Following retirement, he served as an interim pastor for 17 years throughout the State. His total years of ministry spanned 67 years.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a man of integrity who always endeavored to do what was right and honorable, and above all a spiritual leader in his home. Serving his congregation and ministering the Word brought great to his life. His humorous stories and entertaining jokes spread laughter to those around him. Reverend Miller is survived by Betty M. Miller, his devoted wife of 57 years; three daughters Rebecca Fillman Viana and husband Manny of Point Pleasant Beach, Daveen Miller of Brick, and Christine Yazzie and husband Jonah of Arizona; four grandchildren Ronnie Fillman II, Jonathan Fillman, Emily Dyani Yazzie and Colby Dyami Yazzie; and three great-grandchildren Skylar Fillman, Marlei Fillman, and Cayden Fillman.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, June 3, from 3 8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick and Thursday, June 4, from 1011 am at Life Chapel, 3118 Bridge Avenue, Point Pleasant. MILLER AGE: 84 BRICK Juanita Virginia Hicks, 90, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015. JUANITA VIRGINIA HICKS AGE: 90 VIRGINIA BEACH, VA Gilbert died peacefully a home on Sunday, May 31st after a courageous and 6 year battle with cancer. Every day he strove to enjoy his life between the numerous painful treatments and surgeries he endured. He was a inspiration to other cancer patients, physicians and particularly to his many friends and family who loved him and admired him for bearing it all without a complaint. He did his best to for all occasions. His family is grateful to Monmouth Medical Center staff for their professionalism and compassion.

When Gilbert was 13 years old, his father was struck and killed while crossing a street in South Belmar. A compassionate South Belmar police who later rose to become chief of that department looked out for him and was inspiration to becoming a police always answering a call for help whether on duty of off. A retired Long Branch Police Captain who served the city from 1977-2012, he started as a foot patrolman, then Undercover Investigator for the Monmouth County Narcotics Strike Force, Radar Coordinator, Underwater Recovery Team Coordinator, Assistant Patrol Commander, upport Services Commander, Detective Commander, and the rst Hispanic Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant and Captain. He was an instructor at the Monmouth County Police Academy, and he served as a Spanish language translator in the Ocean, Eatontown and West Long Branch courts. He received several Le tters of Commendation, a Badge of Honor from the Monmouth County and a City of Long Branch Community Service Award.

He was also named Man of the Year by the Latino American Committee of Monmouth County, and was a member of the Long Branch Elks and Rotary Club. After retirement, Gilbert was employed as an investigator by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, Facial Recognition Program, and most recently was an investigator with the of Consumer Protection for the State Attorney ce. Gilbert enjoyed playing softball in various leagues throughout the years, playing golf and boating with his wife, Diane, on thei Formula Cruiser He served as Commodore of the Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club from 2012-2014, restor- ing the club after the devas- ta tion of Storm Sandy. Gilbert is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Melody Horrach, who adored and cherished him with all her heart, his loving daughter, Jill Horrach and Lisandro Gonzalez, his stepsons Eugene Melody III and his wife Denise, Michael Melody, Adrian Waller and grandchildren Analyn and Sienna Melody and Niles Waller. Also surviving are his mother Maria Webster, brothers Wilfred Horrach and his wife Traci, William Horrach and his wife Marta, mother- in-law Lillian Fitzpatrick, sisters-in-law Kathy Crisp and Walt, Linda Kaiser and Mike, brother-in-law Philip Fitzpatrick and extended family.

Mark MacKenzie Lawrence, 59, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his home in Holmdel. He was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late Frederick and Barbara (MacKenzie) Lawrence. He is survived by his lov- in son, Alexander Schlag Lawrence; his former wife, Elisabeth Schlag Lawrence; his two sisters, Deborah Lawrence and Lisa Lawrence and his niece, Comfort MacKenzie Clinton. MARK MACKENZIE LAWRENCE AGE: 59 HOLMDEL Herbert Robert Reiss, 87, of Monmouth Beach, NJ, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 31, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Bay Ridge, NY, Herb proudly enlisted and served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in Japan from 1946-1947. Following his service, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, remaining an avid Badgers fan throughout his life. It was at Wisconsin that Herb met his beloved bride, Betty Reiss Shafton), with whom he shared a fabulous marriage for nearly 64 years. Upon graduating with a degree in Industrial Management, he and Betty moved to New York City, where he worked for Sperry Gyroscope Corps while obtaining his degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York University. His career centered around his tenure as President at Precision Circuits, Incorporated, where he worked for 25 years before his retirement in 1994.

Following his passion for tennis, Herb established West Rock Tennis Club in Bardonia, NY, one of the indoor tennis clubs in the NY area, which today has become a multi-sport complex. In later years, he developed a love of horses and racing and was thrilled to be in the circle at the Meadowlands racetrack. Herb and Betty retired to Monmouth Beach, where they and the family shared 29 years of wonderful days by the beach. Herb is predeceased by his parents, Anna and Joseph, and his sister, Thelma. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his children, Marilyn and her husband Glenn, Vicki, and Laurie; his grandchildren, Erica and her husband Danny, Alissa and her husband Zach, Sami, Lexi and Jared; and his great- grandchildren, Nathan and Harrison.

HERBERT ROBERT REISS AGE: 87 MONMOUTH BEACH Paul Sylvester Plesnarski born in Minersville, PA, son of a coal minor, hard working mother, the youngest of 6 children, left this world but not our hearts on after a long illness. The family moved to Jersey City where he attended school. With all his brothers serving in WWII, too young to serve, he joined the Merchant Marines at age 16 to do his part delivering ammunition to our troops for 4 years.

He was drafted into the army married Virginia Kuss on while on military leave. He trained at Camp Atterbury, IN, was shipped to Korea in March and joined the 7th Division 32nd INF. REG. Company as Staff Sargent in combat in Korea. When discharged, he worked as Prod.

Mech. At American Can Co. And completed his schooling at St. Prep nights, and 2 years at Adelphi Univ. He joined the Port Authority in and achieved the rank of detective when the squad was less than 10-12 men.

He thrived on police work and retired after 21 years. Later he became Claims Safety Mgr. For Halls Motor Freight, PA. They bought and restored a more than 200 year old bluestone farmhouse in Carlisle. After the trucking industry recession, returned to NJ and was employed at the various casinos as an investigator for a few years.

He revised the Veterans Day program at the beach club where they resided due to the experiences gained at the many regiment reunions they were able to attend. He was a gentle man of great physical strength, compassion, and integrity. He respected his Polish heritage, observed their traditions, and loved his church, St. Pius and those who served it. Korean War Vets and was former commander of the Ocean County Korean War Vets. Also a Lifetime member of Lacey Elks. He is survived by wife Ginny, his sister Genevieve, his 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces nephews. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 7-9 at the Home For Funerals, Forked River. Arrive at the funeral home Friday morning at 830 am.
