20A ASBURY PARK PRESS APP.COM Alex Romanowski, age 84, of Whiting died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Arista Care in Whiting. Alex was born in Pringle, PA and lived many years in Brick Township before moving to Whiting 15 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Deli in Waretown for 18 years. He also was the owner and operator of Alex Landscaping in eld many years ago, and Supervising Foreman for Standard Kiel in Wall Twp. Alex was a cook and was an avid hunter.

His wife Jane died in 2004. Surviving are his two children Jeff Romanowski and his wife Laura of Whiting, and Michael Romanowski and his wife Doreen of Point Pleasant; two brothers Joseph Romanowski of Linden and Frank Romanowski of Pennsylvania; three sisters Lucille Gulitus and Kathleen Mestorick both of Pennsylvania, and Florence Deater of Georgia; four grandchildren Theresa and her husband Bob Vedutis, Ryan, Kristen, and Andrew Romanowski. Also surviving is his great-grandaugh- ter Taylor Jane Vedutis. A memorial service will be held at the Meadows of Lake Ridge Clubhouse, 2 Clear Lake Road, Whiting, NJ on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 1pm. Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of donations in name can be made to the Whiting United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 55 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. ALEX ROMANOWSKI AGE: 84 WHITING George E. Sincox, 92, of Shadow Lake (Middletown Twp) passed away peacefully on Friday April 3, 2015 at Riverview Medical Center, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. George was a communicant of St James RC Church, Red Bank. He served in the Army Air Corp in WWII on a B26.

George was a graduate of Rutgers University, and went on to become a Commercial Real Estate Broker for Exxon Corp. He received many awards from Exxon Corp during his career there. In 1944, George married the love of his life, Irene Brodeur. They lived in North Jersey prior to moving to Monmouth Co in 1959. George and Irene also enjoyed spending time at their home in Ft Pierce FL, winning many prizes in Golf and Bocci.

George was predeceased by his 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Irene, of Middletown his son, George D. Sincox of Sea Bright; his daughter, Barbara Jean Hepburn and her husband Denis of Portland, OR; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Sincox, Leigh Ann Riker, David Sincox, Elizabeth Hepburn, and Kathleen Yan- evich; and 11 great-grandchildren. George is also survived by many friends who loved him dearly. Visitation will be Monday 6-8pm at The Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Red Bank, Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday 10am, St James RC Church, 94 Broad St Red Bank, Entombment to follow, Fair View Cemetery Mausoleum, Middletown.

GEORGE E. SINCOX AGE: 92 SHADOW LAKE Philip S. Smolinski, 48, of Howell passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the MediCenter, Neptune City after a three year battle with cancer. Philip was born in Newark, raised in Union and had lived in Edison and Freehold Township before moving to Howell in 1994. He was a bus operator for New Jersey Transit, Monmouth Academy and the New York MTA.

Philip had a passion for traveling, but hated to He loved to cruise with Glenn throughout the Caribbean and the world. He enjoyed spending time at the beach just sitting and watching the waves, but his true love was for his family and friends. Philip is survived by his partner of 31 years, Glenn J. Okulewicz of Howell; his mother, Frances Smolinski of Howell; a brother and sis- ter-in-law, Joseph Smolinski and Helen Lutz of Garwood; his in-laws, Stanley and Marion Okulewicz of Edison; two brothers-in-law, Gary Okulewicz of Edison and Guy Okulewicz and his wife, Susan of Jackson; two nieces, Caisey Smolinski and Jennifer Okulewicz; and two nephews, Jack Smolinski and Michael Okulewicz. A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with his memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM.

PHILIP S. SMOLINSKI AGE: 48 HOWELL Michelle (Volpe) Sterling, 57, of Jackson, passed away, Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Centra State Medical Center, Freehold.

Born in Long Branch, grew up in Keyport, then later she resided in Howell, moving to Jackson in 1997. She worked as an information technology analyst with the State of New Jersey for 18 years. She enjoyed the art of drawing and painting. She also created candies and cakes from scratch. Michelle loved playing word games, researching her family tree, and most of all, making people smile.

Michelle was predeceased by her parents, Richard I. Volpe, Sr. and Concetta Mendes-Volpe. She is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel Sterling, two children, Daniel Sterling, III of Jackson; and Elizabeth Sterling-McGowan and her husband Stephen of Jackson; and two brothers, Michael Volpe and his wife Leslie of Dorothy, NJ; and Richard Volpe, Jr. of Jackson.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited Monday, April 6, 2015, from 2-4 7-9pm at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, and Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport. MICHELLE STERLING AGE: 57 JACKSON Marjorie McGee, 74, of Bayville, died peacefully at home with her loving family. Marjorie was a life-long resident of Brooklyn before moving to Bayville 15 years ago. She was a switchboard operator for the, then famous, Prince George Hotel of Manhattan.

Mrs. McGee was solely devoted to her family. She is predeceased by her beloved son, Raymond in 1986. Surviving are her three children, Kathleen Kenny and her husband Paul, Lawrence McGee and his wife Gail and, Eileen McGee and her companion Joseph Shearin. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Monday, Apr. 6th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Bayville. MCGEE AGE: 74 BAYVILLE Robert A. Roth Sr. 71, of Ocean, NJ, died on April 2, 2015 in Neptune, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Middletown, NJ most of his life. Robert was an in the US Army serving during the Vietnam War in Korea.

Robert was the Chief Financial cer for Middletown Twp, for 22 years retiring in 2007, and Treasurer for the Middletown Board of Education. He was also a Commissioner for the Monmouth County Improvement Authority and an adjunct Rutgers University Professor. Surviving are his wife, Myriam Roth, of Ocean, NJ; son Robert (Tony) Roth Jr. and his wife Catherine of Somerset NJ; daughter Karla Roth-Bardinas and husband Leo of Ocean; sister, Patricia DeLaRosa of Sayville, NY; and grandchildren, Clayton, Paige, Alexander, and Arianna. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Catherine Roth and a sister, Dorothy Palmer.

Jack was born September 25, 1944 in Ft. Dix, NJ, son of the late Jack Win- Potts, Sr. and Margo Johnson Potts and was also predeceased by his daughter, Deanna Lynn Potts. He was a member of the Carolina Forest Community Church and he retired from Amerada Hess Oil Company with over 36 years of service. He was a US Navy Veteran.

Jack is survived by his wife, Gail Larsen Potts; son Craig Potts of Round Rock, TX; two grandsons, Mason and Gehrett Potts; brother, Gary Potts and wife Jacque of Leander, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Club House at the Bluffs on the waterway. Condolences may be made to: www.burroughsfh.com JACK WINFIELD POTTS AGE: 70 MYRTLE BEACH Vito L. Tango, 90, of Neptune City passed away peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2015.

Born and raised in Newark to Italian Immigrants, Vito moved to Neptune City in 1958. Vito served in the Navy during WWII from 1942 to 1946, his primary ship assignments were the USS Belle Isle and the USS Bunker Hill. He also served on the Marblehead, Ranger and Boxer when the Bunker Hill became badly damaged in 1945. He was a Ship Fitter Second Class and Fireman. He worked as a Diver in Pearl Harbor and was part of a crew that recovered one of the ships bells from the USS Arizona.

He was awarded the American Theatre Medal, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 stars and the Asiatic Medal with 10 stars. He was Senior Purchasing Agent for Perkin Elmer in Oceanport. He was an Income Tax Preparer and also worked at the Hollywood Golf Club in Deal as the He was a Communicant of the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, where he served as Head Usher and a Eucharistic Minister for many years. Member of the Italian American Club of Newark, Neptune City Knights of Columbus, Senior Citizens of Bradley Beach, and Served on the Neptune City Zoning Board. To Vito family was everything; he loved Sunday Dinners, Family Picnics, Holidays, and any event that would bring his family close together.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, he will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jeanne Marie Tango; his parents, Antonio and Arcangela LeQuaglia Tango; brothers, Joseph, Pat, Mario and Sal Tango; sisters, Rose Dennis and Philomena Mansueto. Vito is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Rosemary Perna Tango; his children and their spouses, Alan and Betsy Tango of Neptune City, Jay and Sandra Tango of Tinton Falls, Christopher and Dina Tango of Wall Township, Barbara Alexan- der of Treasure Island, FL, Karen Tango of Neptune City, Gail and Charles Sylvester of Neptune City; his grandchildren, Joan, Casey, Molly, Daniel, Taylor, Angelee, Sierra, Julian, Jessie; and three great-grandchildren Jackson, Christian, and Ryan, his siblings and their spouses Anthony and Terry Tango of Union, Margie and Tony Genova of Cranford, and Lena and Angelo Bonnano of Hillside, and his sister-in-law and her husband Sophie and Joseph Lamattina of eld; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. TANGO AGE: 90 NEPTUNE CITY Joyce Sacchi Scott, 81, passed away in California on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

She was born in Freehold, NJ and graduated Freehold High School in 1951. Joyce loved music and played the violin. She also played the Glockenspiel in high school and the Freehold Elks Band, and was a choir member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Freehold. She worked for N.J. Bell, and in Montana.

Joyce married Wm. Triplett and moved to Alaska. After death, she moved to Montana. Later, she married George Scott and lived in Billings, MT. After retiring, they moved to Vero Beach, FL.

Recently, she moved to California, where her brother, John helped get her superior medical care for her ongoing congestive heart condition. She was predeceased by her mother, Mentha and her father, Charles. She is survived by her husband in Vero Beach; brothers, Milton of Michigan and John of Monmouth Beach, NJ; her sister, Helen Statesir (Bill) of Portland, TX, and many nieces and nephews. JOYCE SACCHI SCOTT AGE: 81 FORMERLY OF FREEHOLD Josephine Striedl, 95, of Keansburg, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at home. She was born in Neis- ling, Germany and moved to Altoona, Pennsylvania, with her parents when she was a young child.

She moved to Keansburg in 2000 to be closer to her family. She was predeceased by her Striedl, in 2002. Surviving are her son, Edward Striedl, and his wife, Marianne, and her sister, Louise Ehringer.Also surviving are her 3 grandchildren, Joseph, Theresa, and Suzanne, and 5 great- grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Andrew, Alexander, and Adam. She enjoyed crocheting, camping with her grandchildren, and playing bingo. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the NJ Blind Citizens Association.

Josephine believed that the most important things in life are to be honest and truthful and to love your family. Leon was born in NJ to Walter and Julia Sudol; Leon resided in Clifton, NJ for over fty years before moving to Holiday City West in 1996. He was a member of the Athenia Veterans Post of Clifton. He served as Technician Fourth Grade 489th Amphibian Company during WWII in the Asiatic Theater.

Leon worked for the Department of Public orks in Clifton as a heavy equipment operator. He volunteered working Bingo at the Holiday City West Club house. He enjoyed playing Bocce and Board and also going to Atlantic City. Predeceased by his parents, his John and Joseph and his sister Fran- ces Salek. He is survived by his wife Helen and his daughter Maryanne Howard and her husband Larry of Fort Fla, three grandsons Michael Patire and his wife Gina, James Patire and Jonathan Patire and his wife Heather, six grandchildren, Alexis, Autumn, Madelyn, Caroline, Giovanni and Jack.

Born in Long Branch, he grew up in Oceanport before coming back to Long Branch 3 years ago. Tim was a driver for Hunt Transportation for 20 years before retiring 4 years ago. He served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was a member of the Amerigo Vespucci Society and the D.A.V. Tim was close with his mother, they enjoying traveling and spending time together.

He loved riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his son Timothy E. Tomaino, Jr and his Liz; his daughter, Nancy Tomaino; his mother, Kathleen Testa; and his brother and sister-in-law, Todd Michael and Maggie Tomaino. TIMOTHY TOMAINO, SR. AGE: 52 LONG BRANCH Peter Werlick, 92, of Jackson, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at home. He was born in Verona, NJ, and resided there until moving to Jackson 63 years ago. Mr. Werlick was a chemical operator at Ciba- Geigy in Toms River, NJ, for 25 years before his retirement in 1970.

He was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Peter was a member of the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Company (Station 57).
