HERBERT "HERB" ALLEN, 83, of BRICK TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home. He was a senior mechanic for the Brick Township Board of Edu-" Edu-" Edu-" cation for more than 30 years, retiring " 23 years ago. He owned and operated Allen Farms, a vegetable and flower farm in the Herbertsville section, for more than 50 years. He was a member member of the Allenwood Protestant Church, Wall Township, the United States Trotters Association, and the standardbred Breeders and Owners Association. He was a descendant of Jhe Allen family who settled in the Allenwood Allenwood section of Wall. Mr. Allen was born in Allenwood and lived there before moving to Brick 50 years ago. Surviving are a son, Dale Herbert Allen, Brick; two daughters, Kim Arnos, Brick, and Karen Ballare, Oklahoma; Oklahoma; a stepsister, Lenora Tatum, Allenwood; Allenwood; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. great-grandchild. great-grandchild.
