JAMES WILLIAM MC NAMARA SR., 78, of Jensen Jensen Beach, Fla., formerly of JACKSON, died yesterday at his daughter's home in Lanoka Harbor, Harbor, Lacey. He was the former owner of Ascot Runne Kennels, Jackson, for 18 years, retiring in 1992. He was previously employed employed as a millwright by Kop-pers Kop-pers Kop-pers Corporation, Maryland, retiring retiring in 1982. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1941 to 1947. He had assignments aboard the USS Polaris; USS Monterey, where his gunnery officer officer was former President Gerald Gerald Ford; USS Jaguar and the USS Houston. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Defense Medal, American American Theater Medal, European African Middle Eastern Area Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal with two stars. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Foreign Wars, both of Neptune. Born in Providence, R.I., he lived in Jackson before moving to Jensen Beach, Fla., 10 years ago. He was predeceased by two sons, James McNamara Jr. and Gary McNamara; and a sister, Edith McMillan. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Joan McNamara; two sons, Peter McNamara of Brick, and John McNamara of Florida; two daughters, Jennifer Tango of Lanoka Harbor, Lacey, and Sheila Clawson of Brick; 12 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. greatgrandchildren.
