George Lackett, GEORGE LACKETT, 60, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home. Mr. Lackett was a teacher, coordinator coordinator and head of the industrial arts department in the Edison Township school district where he worked for 33 years before his retirement retirement last September. Mr. Lackett was a graduate of Trenton State College and received his master's degree from Kean College, College, Union Township. He was a member of Edison Township Teachers Teachers Association, New Jersey Education Education Association, and the National Education Association. Mr. Lackett served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a communicant communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. He was one of 60, educator the founders of the Freehold Township Township Little League, and a member of Veterans of Foreip Wars Post 4374, Freehold Township, and American Legion Post 54, Freehold. Freehold. Mr. Lackett was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident resident of the area. A daughter, Amy Lynn Lackett, died in 1992. Surviving are his wife, Jean Pettit Lackett; a son, George Lackett, Edgewater; two daughters, Laura Massaro, Freehold Freehold Township, and Nancy Lackett, at home; three brothers, Paul Albert Albert Lackett, Brigantine; William A. Lackett, Freehold, and Dr. James J. Lackett, Baton Rouge, La., and a granddaughter. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements.
